Huge games today. I might not even watch single hoops game tonight! BeIN SPORTS Concacaf WC Qualifier GUATEMALA-USA (live) 10 pm. FOX SPORTS 1 Olympic Games U-23 Playoff COLOMBIA-USA (live) 5 pm. BeIN SPORTS en Espanol CONMEBOL WC Qualifier BRAZIL-URUGUAY (live) 8:30 pm. USMNT failing to qualify for another Olympics would be disastrous It's been eight years since a United States men's team has appeared in the Olympic tournament. And should the U.S. under-23 national team fail to qualify from a two-game, home-and-away playoff with Colombia on Friday and next Tuesday, the American men will have turned up at the Olympic Games just once since Sydney in 2000. sports.yahoo.com/blogs/soccer-fc-yahoo/u-s--must-win-situation-in-olympic-qualifying-114554331.html

That they even have to go into a qualifier is an indictment of their training and "development" platform. Maybe the coaching is just not good. What USSF calls their "proven" academy system for developing players. I hope they win this thing, but I bet our heads will be twirling from the USSF spin cycle supporting their approach if they don't.

Let's hope this is not a portend for the rest of the day. So someone tell me how the USSF has improved soccer on the men's side by taking over all aspects of player development since 2007 during the early to late adolescent years? US U20 MNT Fail to advance at Dallas Cup

You guys... how can you expect results when the birth year mandate hasn't kicked in yet? Give them some time to get this fixed.

No idea how u23s got a draw out of that match. What were possession stats? 75-25 Columbia? 23s worked hard but they really depend on anti-football. Can anyone imagine Miazga playing for Chelsea?

Just finished watching the USMNT v Guatemala. What an embarrassing performance. So many things wrong with that team. No cohesiveness. The u23s really did well to hold Colombia to a draw considering they were defending almost the entire game. The game in Texas should be interesting. I have no hope in the senior team though. We are realistically looking at no US men at either the World Cup or Olympics. We have really shown much improvement, right?!

I watched 2nd half of the U23 game (work) and 1st half WCQ. (Just sleepy.. work)
Colombia dominated completely and the US held on with guts. Sad that we are so far behind at that age. Looked like a cat chasing a laser pointer.
Full national team continues to be unable to impose an identity in any match. The endless over the top balls made me sad. Being surprised a Hispanic team played head games with dirty play = total lack of preparedness in my opinion. I was asleep before Nagbe came in but he had to have been an improvement over Mix.
Both games lacked midfield quality more than anything. Inability to keep the ball anywhere other than the back pass "pressure relief" option. Not cohesive. Tactically inept.
I don't want to pee in the Cheerios.. But I won't be surprised at all if we miss both tournaments. I sure hope that doesn't happen.
