What are your favorite overnight soccer camps for high schoolers? My daughter is looking for a new camp for this summer.

Lundy and uga are probably the best local overnight ones near by. Uga will be interesting with the new staff and all.

She didn't think UGA was well prepared for training during bad weather. She was there during a stormy week and training was canceled rather than moved indoors. She hasn't been to Lundy. Thanks

My daughter was at UGA with decent weather but thought there was too much downtime in the dorms last summer. She and her friends had fun, but they were there to play and learn soccer. Instead, they hung out in the dorms for a lot of the day.
She really enjoyed the camp at Furman University, but unfortunately the dates don't line up for us this year.
Has anyone had any experience with the Clemson or Berry College camps?

If you want intense soccer - Lundy is the way to go. They get a lot of field time and coaching. UGA is good from U12-U14 - after that, not worth the time or money.

Quite a few Tophat players have gone to UGA camp, majority said it was fun but not very challenging.

She went with several players from her team but they didn't keep teams together for drills and scrimmages. She preferred camps where her team could play together.

I was really disappointed in Duke. Maybe for the older college prep group but U12 was a complete waste of time and money. Poor coaching and more ice cream than soccer. All different levels mixed together. That was her last college camp. The college ID camps are supposed to be OK.

Nuno runs his own camp??? Ha! That's hilarious. I mean he does alright with top talent but it's been a long time since he's been known to develope players.

Coaches weren't very good. 17 or 18 players on team so players had to sub out a lot in evening games that only lasted 20-30 minutes. More free time than soccer.

It's pretty pricey but has anyone's kid attended or heard about anyone attending the IMG Camp in Bradenton, Florida? I can't tell whether it's amazing or a waste of money!

It's pretty pricey but has anyone's kid attended or heard about anyone attending the IMG Camp in Bradenton, Florida? I can't tell whether it's amazing or a waste of money! My son did one IMG camp session a couple of years ago when he was 13. It was a good experience for him to be that far from home without anyone he knew. The campers stayed in dorms and were responsible for getting themselves to the different training sessions across campus and to the dining hall etc. on time (they have those open-air shuttles like the parking lots at DisneyWorld, only smaller, or you could walk). He roomed with athletes who played different sports who came from different parts of the world and all over the US so it was kind of like getting a taste of college in that your roommates don't necessarily have the same schedule as you so you're responsible for yourself. It's a closed campus with lots of people around fyi and they had an orientation about safety at the beginning of the session (there might have been a buddy rule but I don't remember, and that might be hard to do if you don't have soccer player roommates). Many of the athletes stay for 2-3 weeks or even for the entire summer btw! It also gave him an idea of what the US Soccer residency program would be like (not that he will ever need to know but cool nonetheless). We flew down with him and spent the weekend in Sarasota, dropped him off at IMG, and picked him up at the end of the camp and stayed the second weekend in Sarasota again. Later that year his Super Y team played at IMG for the championship games and while that was a cool tournament to be in, it didn't have the same feel of staying on campus. Bottom line: good experience, lot of money, really hot, and probably only need to do it once. Hope that helps!
