Am I mistaken - didn't this happen about 2 weeks ago?

That's terrible! I was at the fields on Sunday. Didn't see anything. My youngest had a game on field 2 at 1pm. My condolences go out to his family on their loss. Actualparent: Yes it did happen a couple of weeks ago at the NASA UQP complex. I think that ref was in his car in the parking lot though, not on the field.

I hope it wasn't who I think it was....my oldest played on Saturday on field 4 as well. We had a middle aged guy who was the main referee at our 11am game. Actually went up to him after the game and thanked him for doing a great job.

Nevermind...should've asked my daughter first I guess. It was a different guy. That being said, feel terrible for his family. Sad to have that kind of thing go down on the fields. Kinda puts things in perspective in terms of importance.

Here's the text from a couple of emails sent by Tony Annan to NSA parents in regards to the Edgar Henao, the ref who passed away last weekend. There will be a moment of silence before all home games on Saturday, November 2 in honor of Edgar Henao. Edgar was a much-loved referee and friend of Norcross Soccer Academy. Please ask your players to participate in this moment of silence. Also, there will be a soccer scholarship set up in Edgar's name. If you'd like to participate, please send your contribution to NSA with a note that it is for the Edgar Henao Scholarship Fund. Norcross Soccer Academy would like to express it's sincere sadness and sympathy to the Edgar Henao family. Edgar died Sunday, October 27, 2013. He was a NSA parent and referee for many years. He was voted "NSA Referee of the Year" in 2011. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Amy, their four children, and family. He had a deep appreciation for the game of soccer and he will be missed on the fields and in the hearts of many. Visitation is Wednesday, October 30th from 5:30 - 8:30 pm and the funeral service is Thursday, October 31st at 3:30 pm. Both will be at the Flanigan Funeral Home, 4400 South Lee Street, Buford, GA, 30518. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that memorial donations be made to fund a soccer scholarship at Norcross Soccer Academy. To express condolences, please visit the online guest book at www.flaniganfuneralhome.com.
