First, I'm glad this topic is getting discussed. The last short college season needs to be this one, if the US has any hope of allowing soccer players in this country to be competitive on the world stage.
Among the quotes, Luck's (NCAA suit) is infuriating. When a player is ready anywhere else in the world, he can be a pro at ANY age.
The NCAA is right up there with FIFA and USSF.

Step 2: get MLS in line with world soccer calendar Step 3: abolish the livestock sale that is "the draft"

Step 4: Promotion/relegation.
Did you see the report recently that Garber had to go to FIFA and beg them not to force pro/rel on MLS claiming the league was not ready for that step? I had no idea FIFA could evidently force them to institute that structure.

Now that expansion fees are in upwards of $200 million, not sure how things will change. Didn't realize Fifa could force their hand, you have to assume at this point the prior FIFA regime was paid not to force their hand.

Step 4: Promotion/relegation. Did you see the report recently that Garber had to go to FIFA and beg then not to force pro/rel on MLS claiming the league was not ready for that step? I had no idea FIFA could evidently force them to institute that structure. I did not see that report, but I'm glad to hear it. I believe competitive merit is part of the FIFA bylaws (p/r being central to that).. NFL-like "parity" most definitely isn't.
