So did ECNL ask GSA and AFU to take the "pre-ECNL" off of their names? I see they're named differently this week. Here are my guesses for this weekend. Good luck to everyone!
Athena A:
Saturday CF Black/GSA - I think GSA is back on track after a slow start to their season. CF 0 - GSA 4
UFA/NASA Elite - It will be another tough game for NASA Elite (but not as bad as last week). UFA 3 - NASA Elite 1
CF Elite/DSC - DSC celebrated last weekend with their first win. I hope their confidence carries over to this weekend but I'm not sure that it will be enough. CF 2 - DSC 1
AFU/Chiefs - AFU's not playing as well as they're capable but I think they'll squeak out a 1-0 win.
SSA/Norcross - Norcross has managed to hang on in most of their games but they're lacking a big goal scorer. SSA doesn't have that problem so I'll go with them 3-1.
Sunday TH/CF Black - TH will keep control of the top spot. Should be an easy win for them this weekend. TH 3 - CF Black 0
UFA/AFU - UFA seems to be playing pretty consistently. AFU not so much. UFA 2 - AFU 0
GSA/Norcross - I think it will be two wins for GSA this weekend. GSA 2 - Norcross 1.
Athena B:
Saturday Ambush/AFU - Ambush had a good tie against AFC last weekend. Ambush 2 - AFU 1
UFA/CF South - Sorry CF but I think this one will go to UFA. UFA 3 - CF 1
RYSA/Macon - RYSA 1 - Macon 2
AFC/CF North - AFC has a couple tough games in the next few weeks that might give them their first loss. I don't think CF can pull off a win in this one. AFC 2 - CF 0
TH/GSA - I thought this would be a two-team race between AFC and Macon but GSA is starting to show that they could take one of the top two spots. Are there enough games left for them to do it? TH 1 - GSA 2
Rush/Norcross - Both teams have given up a lot of goals. I think this one will be a close one. Rush 1 - Norcross 1
SSA/Inter - Inter has worked themselves up the standings a bit the last few weeks. SSA 1 - Inter 2
Sunday GSA/UFA - GSA 2 - UFA 0 RYSA/SSA - RYSA 2 - SSA 1 Inter/CF South - Inter 2 - CF South 0 Rush/TH - Rush 1 - TH 2

I'll throw in my picks for u13 C/D East since I've seen most of these teams play this year...some very big bracket deciding games this weekend. Saturday18718 BSC 10:00 AM 3 A3 vs A6 AFC Lightning 01 Premier - ATH C/D East vs. SSA Chelsea 01G Select Black 1 - ATH C/D East - Both teams are at the lower end of the bracket and have had trouble scoring and stopping goals. I'd give the edge to AFC. 4-3 18716 Hoschton 12:00 PM 8 A1 vs A10 01 Lady Freedom Elite - ATH C/D East vs. Concorde Fire North White - ATH C/D East - Lady Freedom is coming off the upset of the year so far by tying Roswell Santos last week at home. They won't have to work as hard on this one. Concorde is struggling mightily. 4-0 18714 Pleasantdale Park 12:00 PM 2 A4 vs A5 Lady Chiefs Blue 01 - ATH C/D East vs. NASA G19 Royal - ATH C/D East - Like Concorde, the Lady Chiefs have not had a good year and is one of the candidates to drop down in the spring. NASA wins big 5-0 18719 Howard School 02:00 PM 1 A7 vs A2 TopHat-19 Blue - ATH C/D East vs. 01 Norcross Fury Blue - ATH C/D East - This is the only team that I haven't seen play yet. Going from past experience, TopHat usually have strong technical skills but don't play overly aggressive. This team has not done well this year and Norcross is coming off a 4 game losing streak. This one will be close but I have a feeling Norcross pulls out a close win. 2-1 Nah, I'm not biased...have you seen my avatar? 18717 North Mount Carmel Park 05:30 PM 11 A8 vs A12 TSC 01 Elite - G13 - ATH C/D East vs. CGSA Strikers - ATH C/D East - The second best game of the week in this bracket. Both teams are fighting for the top spot in the bracket. TSC has new life to win the bracket after Roswell's tie last week to Lady Freedom Elite. Both teams play extremely rough and I expect alot of fouls and screaming parents at this one. The refs have to be on the top of their game on this one or it will get out of control fast. Wish I had a camera at this one. I'll take the easy way out and pick them to tie. 4-4 Sunday 18683 UQP 03:00 PM 01 A5 vs A3 NASA G19 Royal - ATH C/D East vs. AFC Lightning 01 Premier - ATH C/D East - Both teams have struggled this year but NASA seems to be the better technical team. I'll give the edge to NASA to have a successful 10 point weekend. 4-1 18682 North Mount Carmel Park 04:00 PM 4 A8 vs A11 TSC 01 Elite - G13 - ATH C/D East vs. Roswell Santos Blue - ATH C/D East - Game of the week! Actually, game of the year for this bracket. These are the two top teams in the bracket and a win by either team just might cement the first place finish for either of them. TSC is undefeated (I pick them to tie on Saturday to CGSA however) and Roswell is coming off what has to be described as a very disappointing tie to Lady Freedom Elite. Roswell will be rested and ready to play and TSC will be coming off a very riough game the previous day against CGSA. Another game I'd love to be at this weekend. I think Roswell has the edge but if TSC gets rough it could be a toss-up. I'm picking Roswell to win in a high scoring contest. 5-4

TSC/Roswell should be a fun one! I bet Roswell is feeling a bit embarrassed about last week. TSC depends a lot on their forward while Roswell has a lot of very strong players. I think the spread might be a bit wider and agree that Roswell will come out in top.
Roswell plays a clean game but you will see some elbows and shoulders from this TSC team.

You're right about the TSC team and their forward. She's definitely a strong player and they do count on her to put the ball in the net. I think that Roswell is probably the better overall team but I'm keeping it close due to the rough natured play that TSC gives. I know that with my daughter's team, it took them totally out of their game. Each kid reacts differently to that type of play. Some suddenly become timid and no longer pressure the ball, some forget to play soccer and now want to return the favor in regards to elbows and shoulders (my kid totally fits into this category) and some become even more determined to play their game. I figure the Roswell players will react similarly to this but they should still prevail.

Rough day for the Chiefs. AFU apparently played like they're capable and won big 7-0. Jack4343 had the NASA Chiefs score right on the nose.

Too bad I didn't get the score right on my own daughter's team. Scoreless at the half, NSA got a quick goal to start the 2nd half but all of a sudden the tide turned towards TopHat who put two shots (one was a penalty handball just outside the box) in on beautiful lofts over our rather short (but very good) goalie. NSA got goal with about 5 minutes remaining to tie it up and threatened a few times but it remained a 2-2 tie. I see it's listed as a CS on the gasoccer site so someone entered something wrong but it was for sure a 2-2 tie. On the other games so far, looks like I got the SSA/AFC Lighting game wrong as I had AFC winning 4-3 but SSA won 1-0.

Your game was posted as a 2-1 loss for you when I checked scores earlier. Maybe TH conveniently forgot a goal .

Yep...they must've forgotten the last one. It's been corrected now though. Oh well, ties stink but her team was the only u13 girls NSA team that didn't lose yesterday so I guess it's better than that. They need more practices but since they are a 3rd level team they only practice twice a week compared to 3 times a week the other levels (and most other clubs) have. Puts them at a disadvantage for sure but I'm not sure that many of the girls are committed enough to even have an extra day of practice.

fan, you were perfect on Athena A score predictions for Saturday. Nice job! Didn't fare as well on the Athena B ones but you got most of them. Noticed the GSA/TopHat score is also listed as a CS. They played the game before ours. To be honest, I wasn't overly impressed with either team out there. Neither could ever get any kind of offensive momentum going. I arrived about 15 minutes into the 1st half and I don't think a goal was scored the entire time from that point on.

Well, I finished 3-4 on my picks this week in the u13 Athena C/D East bracket. There were 3 ties that I didn't account for in games that I called close but that's the way it goes. The big games this weekend lived up to their hype. TSC lost at home in a close game 3-2 to the CGSA Strikers but them redeemed themselves by tying Roswell Santos the following night 0-0. That one might've cost Roswell the bracket title as they will end up with 49 points total. They have one game left against our girls at NSA and while never say never, I'm almost certain it will be an easy win for them. Our girls aren't ready. Anyway, it opened up the top spot for CGSA who beat TSC on Saturday. They can finish with a total of 50 points so they would win the bracket outright by one point. They have 2 games left and they are against SSA (easy win for them) and Lady Freedom Elite. (whom all of a sudden have started playing great and it's no longer a easy one) It will be interesting to see how everything turns out.
