I just saw on the Concorde website a posting for a Cherokee location that will based in Woodstock. Does anyone know more about this program, the coaches, and level of play?

My son was at the pretryout clinic the last 2 nights. Stephen Weiss is the director for that branch, and names of coaches haven't been announced yet.

Cherokee Impact still over there?
ConFire tryouts website also mentions a Marietta location under ConFireNorth. Is that new?

The Concord Fire North out of Marietta started last year using a church's field. It is a smaller group of just a few teams but the coaches are nice and provides a reasonable alternative to folks in East Cobb that either can't make the NASA team or are looking for something different. To say that location competes with NASA would not be accurate, but I know a number of kids that did not make the NASA academy that went to the Concord East Cobb location and they were happy with the program. If they were able to market it better in the area I would not be surprised to see it grow more, but they will ultimately need to improve their current location or add a field or two more because the metro fields are nice.

I wouldn't say the East Cobb Boys Concorde team began because some didn't make the NASA club, it was because we didn't want to play at NASA, most of us never tried out there or played there in the past. We heard room many negatives and decided to create a new team/branch in EC! And other than facilities at this point, our talent and coaching is as good if not better than anything I've seen from NASA and I've been in ATL playing for 40 years. In fact, we played one of their middle level teams a couple of weeks ago and smashed them 7-0. Come give us a try and see if you can keep up.

One thing that is frustrating when you play a NASA team is that you never know what group you are playing since they mix up every week and to be fair, their teams do not play together as a group during the season so any team at the end of a year that has been together should have a significant advantage over them. I wouldn't read too much into the 7-0 win.

We were out of town for the tryouts and we miss all of them. Is there a chance my son (u12) can try out for concorde East Cobb or Cherokee?

Look at both websites and see if they have posted tryout results. Look at the numbers for that age group (quantity not tryout numbers LOL) and you 'll see if they could use another player. U12 as in still Academy or U12 last year and he's trying to make a Select team? Better shot at making an Academy pool now.
