Again, I don't have much to report. Today, we played UFA in a spirited match. There were cheap shots and quality fouls all around, and a ref that let the boys play at first, then clamped down. He was a bit awkward doing that, but wasn't a real factor in the game. The GSA parents complained the loudest over some calls and bizatched at the ref. The UFA parents were very whiny, though, over basic shoulder to shoulder contact, etc. Every soccer parent knows the indignant Mom who cries "he's pushing him!", when her little bundle of joy encounters opposition. So tiring; 15 year old boys in a contact sport do push each other. But nothing crazy happened.
Does anyone else have any parent psychotic behavior?
Hopefully, a week off from heart attacks and death, and parents hunting down children in parking lots...
Please nominate your favorite, with details so the club and team can be identified.

I'll see your indignant mom of U15 boys and raise you an overprotective daddy of U14 girls. It's a contact sport, dad - princess is gonna get bounced around a bit. Shoulders are legal - deal with it! No nominations here -just a hotheaded game rules ignorant daddy on our team yesterday. The coach had a little heart to heart with him via email apparently - dude was practically sedate today! PS - I now have a roll of duct tape in my car - don't make me use it next weekend!

I'll be honest, i probably would have been a psycho parent this weekend. daughter played at rush.
i missed it - but my daughter was punched, player was warned, no card. the rush coach apparently was the ref and calling the game. heard it was bad.

Oh, man, that is total crap. How does that happen that a team's coach is also the ref? What kind of idiocy is that?

Strange one - person parked in a van at the end of the field was shouting at the coach of one of the teams to shut up and leave the kids alone. Problem is the person could not be identified as being with either team!

Well I responded to this thread earlier, but it didn't seem to take...good thing because I was on quite a rant!
I was commenting that you rarely go to a game lately where some idiot parent isn't screaming the doors down at the ref/players/coaches. Some of the worst offenders out there are from my own children's teams. It is completely embarrassing as a few dads are constantly shouting for red cards repeatedly every time someone even touches their daughters. We are talking low level soccer here, these are NOT physical games. I told one dad he had better hope his daughter doesn't make it into a higher bracket if he cannot handle the current level of physical play. And with my other child's team the kids are so young, there isn't any malicious play going on. It's like weebles wobbling out there. Two players touch and they both go down. So ridiculous....I am continually embarrassed for our team and fans and would love a good comeback for these idiot parents.
I know there are some really bad refs out there, I have seen it myself. At the older ages or higher levels of play this can make a difference in the game. But our parents yell every single minute of the game for some very young, low-level soccer.....totally ridiculous.
