A friend was asking about cost of u12 DA at local clubs. I honestly had no answer for him other than knowing that Atlanta United is free. Anyone know the costs at UFA, NASA, SSA, Conorde, AFC, Lanier??

I personally don't know, but I thought the whole premise behind DA is that it was fully funded with the exception of travel expenses...

Depends on the club but the average seems to be around $2,000 which does not include training gear/uniform or travel expenses to tournaments or showcases.

Seems awful expensive for "standard" u12 club soccer. And those costs do not include uniforms or travel expenses? Not quite sure how it can be more expensive for clubs that were already training 3 days a week? Are these teams playing in tournaments? I've heard they will not be having any DA special tournaments for the u12s. I'm sure Atlanta will be invited to the Dallas Cup again, but wonder if thats it?

I don't have a kid in DA so take this with a grain of salt.. remember that it's worth the price you're paying me. This is information gleaned from sidelines and soccer forums.... DA is expensive. Lots of travel. High profile coaches.
When AFU lost DA and GU alliance was created to make a 2nd DA option in Georgia, GU needed a gimmick to steer players away from CF - so they figured out a way to subsidize their two teams. Sponsors I presume. Since GU did this, CF had to do the same. So... it was great for those players. And the rest of the club's players got to absorb the costs, or sponsors or something.
Then players started to quit DA to play for their HS.. so the organizations footing the bill got irritated. So they made players agree to stay and not play HS in order to get their fees subsidized. Now there is AU and CF. I don't know the deal, but I THINK that CF is collecting fees for their DA players. Remember, DA is expensive. Lots of travel. High profile coaches.
Many MLS clubs have DA teams that are free. Some of the MLS clubs are not even free. Imagine paying a pro club for your kid to play for them. Crizzzazy.
If you didn't hit the lottery to play for uncle Arthur, I imagine that DA is going to be very expensive. Lots of travel. High profile coaches.
Good luck.
