Between Tophat and Concorde Metro Atlanta has 2 of the top 16 clubs in ECNL based on this years results. This ranking is based on this years results. You can find the details here. Congrats to Tophat and Concorde on a successful 2015-2016 season.

Yes, congratulations to the SE Conference clubs. JFC is in the top 25 also.
I like the ECNL. The league have done a pretty good job and they are continuing to evolve. This year end ranking, however, is silly. The big problem is that about 40% of the rating is based on conference play. If you are in a weak conference, you get a gift in the ratings. Strong conference, difference story. So those conference points should be weighted by conference strength. How are you going to do that? One way would be to base the ratings on competition outside of the conference only (Showcase and year end playoffs performance only). Or they could include a weighting factor based on Showcase results.
To be clear I am not saying I think the SE Conference is weak. I have been unimpressed by some Northern teams when they play in Showcases against our SE Conference teams. Team that are undefeated with ridiculous goal differentials in their conference (like +40-50) play our SE Conference teams and don't look like all that. Texas and SoCal teams, though, different story.

So what separates the top 25 from everyone else --
Better coaching Coaching education Player pool - quality and quantity Destination club Size Fields space /facilities club atmosphere Location i.e. - city
Does it just come down to player pool?
Who in the ecnl does the most with the least? What club is the standard now?
