I see a 15-0 score in your bracket yesterday jack4343. I hate when teams run up the score that high. Did they not think the other team was demoralized enough when it was 5-0 or 8-0?? Looks like you had a close one.

Looks like you had a close one. Most likely that was a typo when the team manager put it in - I see a CS on one game (contested score). If the two teams' scores don't match when the managers put them in, you get that error. Although there was a game in U14 Athena A last week that was 11-0 so who knows?

Yeah that was CGSA vs. Concorde. Concorde is the worst performing team in the bracket and CGSA looks like they might actually pull out the bracket win over Roswell. They needed that game but I don't know why they ran up the score since they will not finish tied with Roswell and need goal differential. Roswell with their 2 recent ties will finish with 49 points to CGSA's 50. (if they win their last game) Those girls at CGSA are huge and play especially rough. My daughter's team got man-handled by them pretty badly too. (9-0)
We lost a tough game yesterday. The goal scored against us was a diving stop by our keeper who evidently bobbled the ball a bit and the scorer kicked it away and in. Hard to see from the sidelines as the field has such an incline you couldn't see the players feet at the far end. LOL To be honest though, GSA outplayed each and every one of our girls yesterday but they just could never get anything going offensively either. We play Roswell next week. We'll probably be one of the teams to drop down to the D level in the spring. 3 wins, a tie and 6 losses doesn't cut it. The 2nd level Norcross team might drop out of B as they have no wins, 9 losses and 3 ties.

Sorry - thought fan was referring to Athena A. I saw the CS there
Sadly - not surprising at the other levels to see scores run way up in the fall. Coaches who feel slighted by placement will not let up to drive that point home through goal differentials. It does all shake out by Spring and Fall U14 - your performance - not some delussional DOC - will get you placed.
jack - our team fell from B/C to D last year and then had a great spring. The girls won games and developed their skills by playing competitive games where they weren't in panic mode trying not to get creamed. Also, between U13 and U14 - some clubs will fold completely and girls will move around so even if you get placed in D in Spring, you can still get moved to C by Fall depending on your performance and the makeup of the team after tryouts - meaning if some B or C level players from other clubs join your club, you could end right back up where you were this fall.
U13 is a strange year - it is much more of an adjustment than just the size of the field. And the strangest thing of all to me still is this 'soccer math' where wins, losses and ties count and depending on the makeup of those, you move up, down or stay where you are. One coach said you only need three or four ties to stay in your bracket - I'm seeing that is the case in many other brackets, too.

I think our girls will be better off in the spring too with the move down. While we do have 8 of the girls from last years team on the team this year, we had 5 girls from the 4th level team join the club and 2 girls come from rec. The roster expansion created the changes as we had 2 girls move up a level. There are issues there with commitment in terms of practice. They only practice 2 times a week as it is and some of the girls miss one of those nights. My daughter seems to be stuck on this 3rd level team and we might even consider moving her to another club for u14 but anything can happen in the spring. I don't even want to consider the logistics of having one daughter at one club and one at another. It might just make me blow a fuse in my brain. LOL spectator, you hit the nail on the head about panic mode. You should see the panic mode our team gets in during the 2nd half of games. My daughter hardly touches the ball in the 2nd half (center defensive mid) and that's due to the defenders randomly clearing it and the outside mids just booming the ball in to try and force something to happen on offense. They stop attempting to play possession soccer and make good passes. It's all about desperation on offense and defense. They seem to forget that there is 35 minutes left in the game but they will get better with that with maturity.
