I can do other brackets on request, but only from registered members of this forum. If you don't want to ask publicly for your bracket, ask me in pm. I will post links to any requested brackets publicly, but won't say who asked (if you care, which you shouldn't). This will be kept up to date throughout the season.

Uh, sorta :-) I started to write an explanation, but the guy who runs the site did it better: www.sportsclubstats.com/WhatIsThis.htmlThe only thing I had to do was choose some parameters and enter the games. But I also chose two teams making the 'playoffs' (being promoted) and two teams being relegated. That's not exactly how it's done with GA Soccer, of course, but it gives a rough idea. Make sure you roll your mouse over the various team names to highlight the graphs. And you can click on a team to see some more detailed information about upcoming games and such. Some of the most important statistics are the chances of playoffs (same as promotion), the chances of relegation, and the Strength Index (near the far right of the table). If this doesn't help I can try to do better, but it's tough to describe in words if you can't gesture at it  |

I read back through his description, and it's pretty technical. Let me see if I can summarize.
I feed in some information about the group, including stuff like how many points for a win/tie/loss, how often ties happen (historically speaking), how many teams are promoted or relegated, and bunch of other stuff.
Then I feed in the entire season schedule, with scores where they exist.
Once the system has all that it starts running simulations. It picks random scores for every game weighted just a little by the team's previous results. Then it calculates how the season would end with those random scores. Then it does it again, and again, and again, about 10 million times. This is much like an analysis method called the Monte Carlo Method.
Then it tallies up all those results and makes predictions. Picking on the Athena A U13 from above, the United FA 01 Elite team shows a 67.4% chance of finishing top two (which we define as 'promoted', although obviously that isn't how it works). All that means is that in the millions of random outcomes it ran, the United FA 01 Elite team finished top two 67.4% of the time.
