Some of you must have had kids participate. Really curious about girls' experience. Any insights would be most appreciated.

Super Y was a good experience for my kids. The competition was not the greatest, but it keeps kids playing & practicing during the summer, getting touches, and game experience. Not sure if you still make the VA trip, but if you do, try to spend a few extra days in DC. Also, if you win your division, the tournament at IMG was well run with pretty good competition, but your kids will miss a few days of school. Also, if selected, Super Y offers an ODP National Camp in Feb which is good for the resume (note - it is not affiliated with the state ODP). Overall, if you are serious about improving and your kids love the game, its a great opportunity to play in the summer, but not every parent will feel this way and it is a commitment over the summer..

yea, don't get the tampa finals, why do they start on thursday and then go through monday for the finals?. seems crazy to me to have kids miss school for this level of competition.
its one game a day, so teams that lost on day 1, knew they had no shot had to stick around for 2 more days.

I am with you on the extra days & one game a day, totally ridiculous. In fact, not sure if they still do this, but when we played this tourney, you were required to stay for a meaningless 4th game once you didn't make it out of your bracket, absolutely ridiculous given travel schedules and school.

especially since it's the week after disney. in disney we did 5 games in 3 days without a problem, seems super y could do the same. expensive weekend
