I don't think they're allowed to call them Pre-tryouts per Georgia Soccer lol but doesn't everyone offer them for like $10/session? almost free

Per Georgia Soccer they can only be free to the clubs current Academy/Select or rec players. Anyone outside of the club has to be charged something to make it an official camp. Free rides are considered illegal recruiting, but hey look at Concorde charging $75 for a week long camp/training session for their kids. Jeez that club has got to have millions in the bank.

We are talking about "almost free" $10, so $20 isnt a bad deal then. How much does it cost for a group session with a coach? around $20-$30 a session.
Concorde isnt near the size of UFA so you may have to pay a little extra. If you really want to join a team/ club whats $20/30 per session? You never know. You might get signed on the spot for DA or ECNL.
So just a $10/$15 dollar difference isnt going make or break someone decision. We pay $35 just to watch them play at Disney..lol

Yes and no. I know plenty of families that haven't attended these camps in the past due to cost. Especially those with multiple kids, for example a friend has 3 kids between 8 and 13, and the previous years I think some charged $99 for the week per kid.

I can only speak for Forsyth its always been a couple of sessions at $10 each Unfortunately yes, but it was a small price to pay for those unknown to coaches or the club. When we first moved to Atlanta, it was our opportunity to see the types of coaches and coaching that would occur. The resulting effect was our kids were seen and given a better chance of making the top flight team. I believe as the years went on, less and less newbies watered down the camp, so it wasn't cost effective to still charge. Plus veterans of the club knew that it was primarily a condensed version of practice.
