So the other forum has been blowing up for weeks about Grayson using an ineligible player and apparently they turned themselves in to GHSA and now they had to give up all their titles and forfeit all games.

How exactly was the player ineligible? I feel like that's hard to do in high school especially since ECNL players are allowed to play high school
Edit: I had never found the other forum before and my god do they have a bot problem

Where did you hear they turned themselves in? They did have a transfer from Brookwood but her mom works for Gwinnett County.

Grayson turned themselves in the night before the State Championships and the girl wasn't allowed to play the final.
My understanding is that she played at Brookwood and then transfered to Grayson this year, usually the rule is you have to sit out a year if you just change schools. She didn't actually move.

Dang that sucks but she actually lives in the Archer HS cluster, she's lived there since Elem. Her mom at least was a Gwinnett bus driver allowing her to go to whatever HS her mom drove for, the same as if you're a teacher's kid. She's a helluva player and that sucks if they had to forfeit for something that stupid if her mom is still a County employee.

I know several instances of players with valid issues being denied. School teachers being moved to a different school and the player still had to sit out a year. Players being injured and missing the entire season, but still have to sit out a year at a new school. It stinks. Play football and usually there is no problem.

They all agreed he did not fulfill the one year rule, and now he is ineligible. But he's a senior so it doesn't matter. The kid didn't move! It wasn't bona fide and it wasn't for a year. Clear as day. Even Coach Harbaugh visited him at his other home. They could easily have said the one year rule applies retroactively and made him ineligible for his senior football season. But that would mean vacating wins, championships, etc and there is no way GHSA is going to do that. So instead we'll get a working committee to investigate re-writing the rule to be more clear when anyone with a heartbeat can see what was going on.

It's crazy, because its not the 1st time this has happened and it probably won't be the last. If true that they turned themselves in the night before, they should have not been allowed to play in the championship game
