Does your club move players up or down after fall Athena/classic season?

We have had some players move up but not in Athena/Classic but in the Academy ages. Our u9 girls only have 2 teams so tryouts were held and we added 2 new players to my youngest daughter's 2nd level team roster and one girl from that roster moved up to the 1st level team. No movement that i know of with my older daughter's u13 team but we did lose one player during the spring season.

Our club has a bit of movement for the spring. Academy rosters vary a little each week so no one officially moves up or down but players were added to many of the teams from rec. It sounds like there were a few U13 and U14 girls moved too. I applaud the coaches who take the time to watch the team below theirs and give opportunities to guest play if possible. I think movements in those situations is easily accepted by the players and parents. There's at least one case where the move seems to be more political (or maybe a parent's constant pushing/complaining). That just pisses people off and leaves many people feeling that the child didn't really earn the spot. Hopefully cases like that are corrected at the next tryout.
I feel like the club can do a better job looking at the needs of ALL the teams in an age group. Yes, maybe a child has the ability to play on a higher team but moving them leaves the original team short (so they pull up from the one below, who pulls from the one below them and so on). I could see the lowest team in the age group ending up short unless they're able to pick up from Rec or from outside the club.

Regarding moving players down... For select, I would not be in favor of moving a player down unless it was requested by the parent or if there was an unusual circumstance. For better or for worse, the player made that team for the year. If the effort is there but maybe not quite the skills, I think they should stay.

Don't forget you get one transfer per season. A move (up or down) would be that transfer. Just one more little piece of info to keep in mind with regard to this question.

Is it a max of 3 transfers per team? A player can only transfer once, I know that like you said.
