Unfortunately for those kids they will rarely, if ever see a promotion. Those teams will typically recruit stronger players from other clubs to fill the top teams roster. I still think that the majority of players/parents will be the ones making the contact to those clubs without recruiting. Is your definition of recruiting having DA/ECNL ID sessions during the end of the season? If yes, then I agree and yes those clubs want the best possible players to fill those rosters. That’s why it will continue to be the most competitive leagues. I thought this was a thread for SCCL not Da/ECNL? I don’t believe anyone here is questioning the level of DA/ECNL(though I have seen RPL and even academy teams beat DA/EcNL teams over the past year) I doubt there will be ID camps for the Sccl and it’s even less likely that players on teams in the SCCL will ever get the opportunity to move up onto the Top level teams. Again, they will find talent elsewhere to fill those spots- they always do. ID camps, Super Y, and even speaking to parents or players at tryouts are all forms of recruitment, whether or not the parents or players initiate. That’s just how it goes and there is nothing wrong with that. So why would parents and players prefer to play on the 2nd-4th teams in a US Club league rather than a higher level team in USYS? I believe it will be hard for most people buy into the fact that just because a certain club has a certain Elite team granted to them that thier 2nd-4th US CLUB teams will be in “the most competitive leagues”. In fact, from what I’ve seen it causes just the opposite- dilution of the level of the lower teams to a point where they have a hard time competing in CL1/Aa or a regional league which is one reason the SCCL was created in the first place.

Sorry I was saying that the big 5/6 clubs will continue to keep getting players who will play in SCCL as they will want to play on the top team at that club.

My kid plays for a small club in SRPL and woüld not consider moving to a big club to play in sccl. That would be a demotion. ECNL woüld be an option and considered a lateral move and woüld be based on liking coach. DA woüld be considered a promotion and woüld probably make that change. The reason that ECNL woüld be a lateral move is that her team has played several ECNL teams and they were good but not as good as the SRPL teams that we play from North and South Carolina.

So, this means that you would be willing to try out at one of the Big 6 to play DA but if She doesn’t make the team of choice you would go back. Got it.

AFU was one of the original two clubs who began the discussion of the SCCL 15 months ago. But they since pulled out because of the changes USYSA did. 1) Better travel conditions. The new region will have SC, NC, North Ga toegether. When a Ga tean plays a NC team, the two teams will meet at CESA in order to cut costs.......this is good for the kid and parent; 2) There will be an anouncement soon that Ga Soccer and USYSA will offer College Combines vs the College Showcases. This is better for the kids. Think of the NFL draft combines. College coaches will hold a three day combine where they look at each kid individually measuring their speed, passing, dribble speed, tactics, etc. Compare this with a "showcase"....if your kid is playing with a weak player, your kid may not shine because of the weak link. Under the Combine, each players' strengths are specifically measured. On another note, the two DA clubs with ECNL teams (TH and CF) will lose one of them. They won't tell their members yet because they want to get them signed up. But either 2018 or 2019, they will have to choose. Therefore, you will have many quality players leave those two clubs because they don't make the DA or ECNL top team. They will look at AFU/GSA ECNL, making those two clubs stronger. One ECNL slot will go to CESA. The other is up in the air. What was the comment about? One ECNL slot will go to CESA. The other is up in the air? CESA already has ECNL

It looks like NTH has posted prices for SCCL and Concorde has already specified a couple teams it will place in the new league. Has anyone else, does this mean the league has been announced?

NTH? Its for the girls probably yes but they have it on the boys site as well. I know, I saw it after I responded to you. Intentional typo on their part? 🤔 Someone coming in from the outside could be very dissappointed....
