We were in the same boat this year. Child feels loyalty to club, got offered to play at one level. Two clubs offered spot at a higher level, which is where they eventually want to play. But they want to get to that level within the existing club.
PLUS, the existing club didnt give much time to think over offer.
Next year we'll be better educated and jump if its the same (lower level/existing club vs higher level/new club)

Its tough to answer that question for someone else. And truth be told, there isn’t a wrong answer. I guess part of it depends on what her goals are. Is she trying to move up in ranks to fight for a college scholarship- if so, playing on a higher level team would likely give her a better shot. But if she wants to play a sport with people she likes, play high school soccer, and just enjoy her last few years of soccer, then staying put makes the most sense.
We have been in a similar position with my oldest and she was emphatic that she wanted to remain on her current Athena B team because she loves the girls and the coach. I know she could move up to a higher team but She LOVES going to practice and games and pouts on days they don’t have practice. For me (and her), that level of love for the game and for her team is more valuable than moving up to Athena A or higher. But the answer will be different for different kids. Good luck!

Paying thousands to play is bad enough.
Don't sit. Play.

Maybe depends on the situation. Is the current team too easy? Is the player challenged at training sessions with the current team? Does the player hope to continue developing and growing, and being pushed by players at a different level could enhance that?
I agree that riding the bench the whole time is awful, and not helpful. Being required to face challenges and learning to confront those head on could certainly be beneficial. In my opinion, this is all individual.
