Looks like a lot of teams are enjoying time off for spring break. Only a few games are scheduled in U13 A and B. C, E and F are off but D has several games.
Here are my guesses for the three A and B games:
A: AFC 0 - UFA 2 - AFC is looking for their first win in A. UFA has had a string of 2-0 games. Here's my guess for one more.
B: Rush 1 - TH 0 - Rush did well to tie Ambush in their last game. TH has not done as well as I thought they would. It's probably a toss up but I'll go with Rush. Macon 1 - SSA 1 - No losses for Macon yet. SSA had a good win over Ambush and kept Roswell really close. They're doing better than I thought.
Safe travels if you're heading out of town this week!

Yeah, I thought about putting a higher score there. Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part that they'll do well. It's tough to see a team move into that division. Hopefully they'll win a game sometime this season. They beat GSA Red last season but GSA's score against CF Black makes me think GSA is a bit stronger than them this season.

Saw that TopHat Blue in Athena D didn't make the trip to Savannah this weekend and forfeited the game. We made the trip last weekend.

Tophat didn't forfeit because they didn't want to make the trip, due to public school break they only had nine players out of 16 to play. Since TH Blue is their fourth team they cannot club pass to help with numbers, per GA Soccer rules U12 Academy players can only club pass to a clubs first or second U13 team, since Savannah was reluctant to try to work reschedule even after the season has been extended a week, the team didn't have any recourse but to forfeit, which wasn't what the team wanted to do.

I didn't mean for it to sound like TopHat didn't want to make the trip. I figured it was a scheduling conflict and with spring break added into the mix with a bunch of rainout reschedules I can understand how these things happen. Really stinks about the inability to pull players in a player pass situation due to the glitch in the rules that makes a 3rd level team on a u13 club basically ineligible to have players from their club help out. I guess the only way would be to pull from u12 and under Rec programs (maybe even u10!!) but I really don't think that's a good idea at all as it could really put those youngsters at risk to getting injured. Anyway, back on topic. SSA Savannah probably has a mess each year with teams from the Metro area doing reschedules as it's a 4 hour drive and really eats up a weekend so you have to align up stuff similar to a tournament. Our team had to reschedule our game to an earlier weekend due to conflicts as well.

wow, didn't realize that was the case with u12s. anyone who has a u12 and is a team a manager can go into the affinity system and verify.

I would think with U12's you are on your honor. Many clubs pool all their academy players into one team.

For my U12 academy team, the Affinity system allows me to player pass our players to any of our U13 and U14 teams (teams range from A to F). For my U13 team, the system prevents player passing to teams that are in divisions lower than ours, whether at our age group or older.
If I had a choice between forfeiting a game and player passing U12s to a U13 4th team, I'd player pass the U12s. Finding some willing to travel to Savannah would be a whole other problem though. In my opinion, the rule about player passing U12s to only the first or second teams is a bit arbitrary. Let's say our club's 3rd team and your club's 1st team are playing each other in a game. You'd be allowed to have U12 player pass players but I wouldn't. We can't have U13 rec players because they're rostered as U14. I guess you could have U12 rec players but if they're not in academy by then, they probably won't be strong enough players.
I can see why it wouldn't be fair to pull in a few top U12 players into an Athena F game but you have to give the lower teams some option for pulling in players. If GA Soccer wants to prevent U12s from playing for teams below the first and second, they should prevent it in Affinity.

See the GA Soccer Rules regarding club passing players www.georgiasoccer.org/assets/pdfs/Club_Pass_Policy.pdfnote item #4- U12 Academy players can only club pass to their respective clubs U13 first and second team. If you are on the third or fourth team and don't have a team below you to draw from you are out of luck unfortunately. I think the rule needs to be changed, most families on Athena A and/or B teams are typically more committed and will forego other activities to make all if not most of the games. Many families on third and fourth teams tend to be less committed and do other sports during the soccer season, those are the teams that probably need the help the most in terms of player availability.

More of an issue this spring. Breaks started in mid- March and we haven't played full roster since the second game of the season.

Why do teams seem surprised by spring Break?
Schedule around it from the beginning, and play the games.

This year with players in private school it was every week, an rainouts being rescheduled we still had to play this week on break.

Why do teams seem surprised by spring Break? Schedule around it from the beginning, and play the games. Not sure with your team but we have eight different schools represented on our team, both public and private schools with varying weeks of Spring Break. Since GA Soccer only allows you to blackout three days (not weekends) you can't cover every weekend to accommodate the players and families, many families plan/pay for these vacations months in advance and are not going to cancel it, although it's frustrating. So if we have 5 to 7 players out for each of those spring breaks and we cannot club pass players due to the rules, we simply cannot "just play the game" with 8 to 10 players.
