I realize that there has only been one weekend of the NL/Piedmont so far, but from that has anyone had any observations on whether its better run/organized this year than over the past few?

GA vs NC boys premier II was in Wilson, NC two weeks ago and I would give what they did as a league an "A" for a)advance communication (from both the league itself and GA state leadership), b)facilities, and c)game environment(competition level, refs). Very evident that the planning to get items off on the right foot was there and they pulled it off on match day. I do question why Wilson vs something more central(like Charlotte), but very nice place to play soccer and well run weekend.
Now there is a real question out there should be why we in GA cannot get our act together as a group to have all these teams travelling all over in various league vs playing the competition locally. I hope in my kids soccer career we all see a group of leaders step up to fix this major issue. Various turf wars now with all groups claiming their idea is the best.

Yeah, I imagine GA Soccer could drop a hammer and simply disallow clubs with teams playing in US Club from playing in the GA Soccer USYS program. That would kill most of the Big clubs as around 2/3 of their select age teams would be left with nowhere to play. Perhaps US Club COULD come in and create a whole new GA Soccer Club league, but WOULD they. It wouldn't be an "elite" or "exclusive" league though, which is basically US Club's whole reason for being.

GA Soccer/US Youth produced a substandard product, which is why ECNL, NPL, SCCL have succeeded. The time for dropping the hammer and fixing their product was 15 years ago, it has come an gone. Doing so now would not kill most of the big clubs, it would just speed up growth of NPL and SCCL, something happening anyway. The big 5 have been able to bully GA Soccer for years because they are directly responsible for so much of their revenue.

I'm sorry but this kind of schedule is not adequate in my mind and hence the creation of the SCCL: events.gotsport.com/events/schedule.aspx?eventid=67394&FieldID=0&applicationID=4699793&action=Go7 total games: 3 already played labor day weekend. Next scheduled games are Oct 14, with the 3 local games to get scheduled during the entire fall. I have no idea if they are also in the national league or not, but regardless, that is not a schedule. You shouldn't have to also be in the national league to get an adequate number of games scheduled.

They are in the National League, but Tier 1. Tier 2 which has GA Rush, Roswell, Inter Atlanta, Moaba and one other play 11 games.
On a side not the US Club NPL schedules shows that teams play 11 games in the Fall and only 5 in the Spring. That's not adequate either.
In SCCL we play 14 and we're even supplementing that with friendlies. Already played Roswell, Inter Atlanta, and the UFA 06 DA team. Next up is GA Rush and the Fowler NPL team.

Girls U13 and U14 NPL has 13 fall and 5 spring, but again friendlies will be used to supplement especially spring. Spring is not ideal but that is only an issue for U13 and U14 not the older age groups who have 18 fall games. ECNL also has fewer spring games. I am not certain but I think the NPL expansion was somewhat of an afterthought for UFA and SSA. The primary goal was to create SCCL. The NPL then became the option for the other high level teams that would have also been in RPL. Who knows what the next year options will be.

Still not enough games in my opinion, It was well organized and the facilities were excellent in Wilson NC.
