What? 4 red cards in one game?! Even if there were 3 reds in a weekend for one team that is crazy!
Yes, it was rough.
VHSC received the first red for 2 yellow accumulation, then NTH and VHSC each received 1 red for a fight, then VHSC received a straight red when their goalie charged the NTH forward out of the box on a breakaway to prevent a goal ...
The game was called a bit early for obvious reasons.

I think Vestavia Hills is a rich suburb south of Birmingham if I am not mistaken. What caused such a violent game? Usually when I see this it because of poor referee work not controlling hard hits early in the game. Did anyone see this match?

Not at the game either, but that was my first thought as well. Refereeing isn't easy, but once you get past a few cards in a game, 9 out of 10 it's pretty much on the referee.
One tactic I learned while doing high school games in Texas 25 years ago (hot temps, hot heads), was to just take a break if the game got too heated. At the next natural stoppage, hold the restart, leaving everyone on the field, and mosey over and chat with one of the ARs (about nothing) for a few minutes. That gave everyone a chance to catch their breath and cool down. Also makes everyone think you're talking about them - particularly if you randomly point to spots on the field and nod. Not a perfect solution, but a way to lower the temperature of the game without pulling unnecessary cards.
