Participation here is key. Jump in on an existing subject or start a new one. Heck, start a controversial one.
Promotion... we need more visibility in google and as much as it sucks, we still need POSITIVE promotion at the old forum. That might not go away for months. But I'd like to see less negativity or attacks in the promotion posts at the old forum. We're trying to make the point that this is the place for mature discussion. Doing that with spam or rude posts doesn't make that point well, in my opinion.

Agree with jash, our resident stat guru!!
Promote with kindness. Positive comments. Heathy conversation and discussion. People can disagree. That is perfectly fine

Hey, help me understand why it is necessary or desirable to keep a bunch of posts going on the new forum. I was looking for a site where there was quality vs quantity posts. 9 out of 10 posts ont the old forum were garbage.

No I agree completely, quality over quantity for sure. But that's also one of the beauty's off a forum style like this one. Popular threads rise and stay at the top, other threads drift further and further down. people begin to understand what folks are interested in hearing and responding to.

The other nice thing about this style of forum, you can't push a popular topic of the front page with M I L T O N

No, this forum will fail. The other is too entrenched and entertaining.

No, this forum will fail. The other is too entrenched and entertaining. You know what I think has been about to happen at any time? I think that the old forum is going to go away. I think Donna is getting tired of running it. Someone mentioned this, and it really got me thinking... there have been a few full purges of the old forum recently... maybe as many as 3 this year alone. That's the "I do not want to deal with this crap so I'm just going to delete everything" method of moderating. How long before the "delete all posts" switches to "delete forum"? This contender, this new forum, is the best one that has happened so far... and I've seen at least two others try it. Most of them got 10 posts or so and then died. This one has a real shot.

So SoccerAdmin, what age group does your child play in? At what point will you say I am no longer involved in soccer in Georgia and give up trying to run this?

Agree completely with "soccerdude10" and "gladtobhere" - quality, respectful discussion... I'd like to add - informational content, fresh content, everyone contributing, general GA soccer promoting content. Other ideas - general soccer goal of the week voting (mentioned by someone yesterday). I'd like to add predict the upcoming EPL scores for this week (do that now on another site) - predictthescore.net/
