- Required Registration
- Active threads move to the top automatically (no more pushing important stuff off with useless thread creation)
- Ability to block a poster completely (I haven't tested it here, but I looked and it is available)
- Better quoting
- reputation system - again I haven't seen how it works here, but I think it will help identify regular useful contributors

looks like that is all here. can block folks by username and ip. can also force it to email the moderator for registration.

6. New posts automatically highlighted when you return for your next visit. No need to read through dozens of things you have already seen.

honestly, just learning on the fly. (ga soccer forum could easily port their forum to a real forum, not sure why they don't).

This is already better than the existing forum. I wonder how many will jump out of the gutter.

honestly, just learning on the fly. (ga soccer forum could easily port their forum to a real forum, not sure why they don't). There was a time when I asked that question often. The answer most often given was that anonymous posting allowed honest discussion and whistle blowing without fear of repercussions. The honest truth is that even forums that require registration can be anonymous. But the extra step of requiring registration (and a unique email address) will slow down the spam that has inundated the network54 forum. Anyway, I gave up asking after someone created a nice board and it died. It will take effort to keep this going. Maybe some search engine magic too.

the site also allows for categories to be added in the future, seems fairly powerful.
we don't need a forum for whistle blowing, its 99.9% lies and hatred. its turned more into a gossip column that real honest content.

If this forum can survive, build a little momentum, then maybe the person who runs the network54 forum will agree to shut down all new posts and leave one single thread saying "This forum has moved" with the details of the new address.
One can hope.
I hold absolutely no ill will towards the network54 forum administrator. It's just a terrible forum platform, and it is far past time for something better with more accountability.

the site also allows for categories to be added in the future, seems fairly powerful. May I suggest that you don't segregate the discussion too much for awhile. Later some categories will naturally fall out, but if you create 10 new sub-boards, none of them will get enough traffic to take off. Maybe ONE non-soccer "Water Cooler" type board would be nice. Maybe not even that for now.

Thanks for putting this board. I much prefer this type of forum over the other, specifically the fact that active threads stay at top and the user logins. You have my support, hope it lasts.
