So how would you rank them? I took some liberties in merging boys and girls. It is not equal and shouldn't have been merged, but its all smack talk. ECRL put a big dent in NPL. SCCL keeps dinging GA Soccer Still think GAL is silly tho. If we were talking about value per $ I'd put it below Athena And I forgot CCL! I'd put that just ahead of SCCL. Value per dollar? What does that even mean? What price do you put on life lessons, teamwork, camaraderie and fun? Everyone's kid should play in whatever league fits their goals. Those goals can be complex. My kid wants to play in college at the D1 level. Big goals, right? Well the goal isn't just soccer. High level academics is part of it...really high. At the same time she wants to play with a team that challenges her every day in training. That same team she wants to accept her as a person. She wants them to support each other while pushing each other to be better. She wants a coach who actually coaches. One who tells them what they are doing right and pushes them to be better and gives them a hard time when they are playing like crap. I don't care whether that league is ECNL, GA, NPL, NL. I don't care if the club is Tophat, Concorde, AFU, UFA. None of that matters. Any of those leagues is enough and any of those clubs (and others I did not mention) are enough. The FIT is what is important. I agree with you that it is smack talk. Smack talk can be fun and I get that, but we all need to just do what is right for our kids. Personally I don't care if it is a lot of travel or expensive as long as my kid is happy, learning, being active and reaching for her goals.

By value per $ I meant GAL SE conference is a six-club tournament held over a season with but with triple the travel costs. But I understand if a kid wants to play with friends and the Hatters is where her friends play, GAL is what you've signed up for. Everything else you say I agree 100% with. You can learn life lessons playing anywhere in any league. It is so nice to bicker about kids soccer again!!

What I find hilarious is that 6 months ago DA was one of the top two leagues - many argued them as number one. But now after losing.. 12 teams(?) nationally and changing their name, they're suddenly Athena A.

Id put USYS piedmont much higher if we are jumping to a national consideration.

You are also correct that GA is weaker in the southeast conference than it is nationally. Some conferences are very strong!

My Georgia Boys League Rankings
1. ECNL (Southeast) - Top league with the top teams of the biggest clubs. With DA ending, it doesn't hurt adding those clubs. 2. NL (National) - Highest league in USYS, with the best teams of each NL Conference qualifying. 3. NPL (South Atlantic) - Is a competitive league with a couple teams that could compete with some ECNL teams. 4A. NL (Piedmont) - The top teams could definitely compete with the top teams of NPL, however the the doesn't have much depth. 4B. SCCL-C - Up and coming league with new additions from the NL (Piedmont), GPL, and Classic 1. 5. GPL - New league in the Georgia Soccer bracket that serves as a buffer league between NL (Piedmont) and Classic 1. 6A. SCCL-1 - Contains some good teams from some big clubs such as NASA and Concorde. Could be a competitive league. 6B. Classic 1 - In the past, it has been a huge deal to compete in Classic 1, however with the addition of new leagues, many teams are dropping out. 7A. CCL Georgia - A new league that is played separate from the Classic leagues and NL, that contains strong clubs such as Inter Atlanta and Georgia Storm. Looks like a league that gives additional games to the teams that also compete in other leagues. 7B. Classic 2 - Contains good teams that could compete with some Classic 1 teams. 8A. SCCL-2 - New league and I don't know what to expect, however some teams from Classic 3 joined. 8B. Classic 3 - Above average teams. 9A. SCCL-3 - Lowest league via SCCL. 9B. Classic 4 - Lowest league via the Georgia Soccer website. 10. REC - Big range in skill level. There are some really skilled players in REC however, not everyone is very good.
