With Julian Gressel and Gordon Wild having received green cards, the assumption was that Atlanta United rookie Anderson Asiedu would get an opportunity to play with the first team. He had performed well across 10 matches with ATL UTD 2, showing tenacity with the ball despite his small frame and contributing 2 assists from his spot in midfield.

That’s now off the table as Atlanta United announced on Friday that it had waived the 22-year-old Ghanaian, putting an end to his brief Five Stripes career. "

Yeah, I would love to know more of the story - really liked the kid.

He was on loan from AU to AU2. Being waived, couldn't AU2 just sign him?

That’s what I don’t get - why he wasn’t just rostered with the 2s even from the start. Kid was never going to get min with with the first team. Maybe he is taking an international slot with the 2s as well.
