UFA DA is making an attempt at a large player grab from AFU ECNL 05 girls. They have apparently called at least 5 and as many as 8 AFU ECNL players. Calls went out this weekend.
Is this kind of large player grab normal? Ethical??
Rumor is that CFC is making a play for several AFU 05 ECNL players as well.
AFU’s MM must be doing something right!!

I thought the former UFA players who went to AFU did so due to the prior team experience at UFA being so toxic. Why would they want to go back to that environment? I am aware it is a different coach but many of the same personalities are there - both player and parent. I have heard good things about the AFU team and environment from their players and parents. I for one would be surprised if it was the former UFA players who came back. Maybe the non-former UFA players? And ethics has little place in youth soccer anymore (if it ever really existed). Not when we are talking this kind of money, power and prestige to these clubs.

The AFU 05 keeper that was there today was the NL one from the team getting bumped down to Sccl-p. I wouldn't be surprised if more from that team were there, that team is not happy... Yes you are correct, I was always baffled as to why she wasnt the ecnl keeper. Good for her for finally leaving. She will be in good hands as a keeper at UFA. Have they always carried two keepers or will this be a first for UFA? Appears that UFA is building themselves a nifty DA squad at the 03/04/05 level. UFA surely made a lot of offers yesterday which probably didn't fare well for TH who decided to start their tryouts later than the rest of the clubs. |

I took that as MM at AFU must be doing something right because all of the former clubs that these players left want them all back...So MM is doing something right because none are going back to their old clubs? A lot of talent to be had this year with the TH ECNL drop. Makes it an interesting year of tryouts. |
