This is not true about UFA in comparison to others. Their tryout showing was very similar in numbers to NTH for 05. There are reasons for this. Most players trying out have already communicated with the coach about their chances beforehand. Also most coaches have selected their team ahead of time with only a few slots to fill. This was the case with UFA DA. I think there are a lot of rumors about people getting calls that are exaggerated. UFA will be improved at the DA level next year. They will not be better than Tophat, but they will have good teams. Good numbers don’t necessarily mean quality. They clearly didn’t like their choices at ID camp so it seems they were scrambling to get some ECNL players to show up for tryouts. See my reply on the other thread. IF there were calls made to AFU, they weren't answered. I was told there weren't any there.

It’s rare to see such unity. Shows the players at AFU and the parents believe in what he is building. I was told the improvements he made in the team and the club in just one year were impressive and they want to be a part of the building momentum. Incidentally, UFA DA tried to cherry pick MM’s of AFU defenders, midfielders, as well as a forward. So they were (are) looking to replace a lot of key areas of that team.

I took that as MM at AFU must be doing something right because all of the former clubs that these players left want them all back...So MM is doing something right because none are going back to their old clubs? A lot of talent to be had this year with the TH ECNL drop. Makes it an interesting year of tryouts. I could be wrong but I thought she was referring to Muller at CF??? Lady Soccer Whistledown can you clarify? I was actually referring to blootooth's statement that MM must be doing something right, MM at AFU...as far as the statement that MM wasn't interested in any of the AFU girls I know he was referring to Muller at CF and that statement is not true. He was just not successful in getting them from what I heard. Either way, everyone is free to move about as they choose! Whatever works for them I suppose.

I wasn't implying that there were good numbers...Tophat did not have good numbers at the same age group. There were only 5-7 more players there than the current team. It is more coaches giving our slots beforehand that keeps numbers down.

Almost all of the 06 DA players from 05 DA went down to their age group. 3 stayed up...unless he changed his mind.

In other news, I heard there are now a handful of former AFU 05 ECNL boys players now playing DA at UFA

It is a shame this always happens around tryout time. Their are great teams being disbanded because of the 1 Domino falling. I am hearing a great 04 team possibly may break up because a couple of girls are aiming at greener pastures. This is a team that continually wins NL and goes very deep at State Cup. Another top notch team which tied for first in their division is being disbanded because their coach of many years is taking some well deserve time off and 6-7 girls are going together to another club.
