Some of my players are making the trip, its just a cultural exchange program, players from various teams and levels are going and attending the WWC matches as well in Lyon.

Can’t comment on this exact post, but NASA DA did go to Madrid this year with Generation Adidas International. Nice trip but Spanish competition was very easy. DA U12 won all their games including some big blow out wins.

It is partially based on your ability to pay the fees associated with making the trip. With that in mind, you usually don't go as a team but as an individual on a team. When you go, you may play against the top clubs in Europe but you don't play the top players/teams. Usually those on top teams are playing in end of season tournaments across Europe or are off for the summer.

We had a scholarship kid go last year so not sure how much the fee issue affects the decision. My daughter was selected this year and we haven't been charged for anything except the flight- Adidas picks up hotel/food/etc. There are some additional costs if you want to do some other stuff, but didn't look like they were trying to make money off it. Also- the kids get some serious Adidas swag out of the whole thing. My daughter is pretty excited about it.
