Atlanta United was always going to be a part of that league. They're fielding two teams, one for SCCL and one for GA Soccer

This has been covered elsewhere, but the rumor is that AU plans to have 2x u12 SCCL teams like other SCCL clubs, plus 1x “junior” team in u12 academy, likely with many u11s playing up.

I'm not really sure the subject line is correct. Maybe wishful thinking from someone that doesn't like SCCL. Nothing in that document really looks to be punching at SCCL. It seems GA Soccer is finally catching up and offering a U12 league since SCCL already did and I'm sure the smaller clubs wanted it. Good for them. I'm not sure it will save GA Soccer's sinking ship if SCCL keeps expanding and bringing more clubs in every year, but good for them.

What I heard was that GA Soccer asked the SCCL clubs to put their U12 top teams in this league in order to be considered for u13 Classic 1 the following year, but they declined. With most of those clubs having DA, ECNL, NPL, 2 tiers of SCCL, then we are talking 3rd or 4th teams? Those probably wouldn't qualify for Classic 1 anyway

I know in my son's age group the difference between the SCCL-p team chosen and the next team down was not very different. Each could compete in SCCL and could probably be upper tier in both SCCL-p or Classic I. One of the teams won Classic II last season and would have played Classic I this year anyway if they had not been picked to go to SCCL.

But they wanted them to play this instead of SCCL

To me, it seems like less of a punch and more of a tummy tickle.

Its really about putting your kids in the best possible situation and that no longer seems to be Georgia soccer.
