kid is a freshman at Paideia... courtesy of www.topdrawersoccer.comwww.topdrawersoccer.com/the91stminute/2014/05/lagos-kunga-scored-an-incredible-volley-in-the-georgia-state-title-game/The Georgia state title season wrapped up last weekend, and the Class A championship game between Paideia and Atlanta International School ended 4-2 in favor of Paideia, which overturned a 2-0 deficit to a streak to an impressive victory. The most jaw-dropping moment of that contest came courtesy of Paideia freshman (!) Lagos Kunga, who skipped past two defenders before shuttling off a pass and trotting into the area. After his teammate whipped in the cross, Kunga snaps off an absolutely ridiculous left-footed volley into the upper left corner to cut the lead to 2-1 and jump-start the comeback. Kunga is currently our No. 17 recruit in the 2016 class, and he’s already been in with U14 and U15 BNT camps. Keep an eye peeled.

thanks! not sure why i thought of this today actually.
how does IMG residency compare to IMG DA teams? Their current academy teams seem to be struggling of late.

Not sure if/how the residency program works with their academy program, but as you stated, their academy program has struggled a bit. I assume IMG competes for talent with another DA club in the Tampa area called the Chargers. Also, to a lesser extent, they may also compete for talent with Orlando City's DA club. I was told by a parent a few weeks ago that their kid played in the Tampa area last year (for the Chargers) but swapped clubs this year to be aligned with Orlando City and their MLS club.

That was a sweet finish. Great technique. But how about the kid that made the cross? Did you see how he created space to get it off and then provided beautiful service under some pressure? I am not as impressed by the dribbling and the wonky pass at the end. He was dribbling against kids that looked like they did not understand basic defensive principles, and that pass off his knee without bringing the ball under control (get the ball to the deck, dude!) was lucky to find a target. Nevertheless, the guy can obviously play.

Lagos is a very talented player & a great kid. My son has trained with & played pick up games with him. He has great things in his future.
