I catching up from old posts I see UFA was supposed to have a gala that was postponed/cancelled.
I imagine they collected the votes for the players of the year, coach of the year, etc. Did they ever present or announce those? Would be a shame if an outstanding player or coach was nominated and won with no recognition. Or was this done within the club/team directly and not announced?
Just curious if anyone knows.

I know a few players that were nominated for player of the year and they were informed of their nomination before the gala was canceled/rescheduled but no one was ever announced/told the final results.

Club - You've been nominated for this award! Player/Coach - Who won? Club - Nobody!! That is odd for a club to react (or not) this way. So if a Club has a tree that falls, and there is no gala, does it even make a sound? If a player or coach wins POY or COY by vote count, and there is no gala, did they not really win it at all. Sounds more like the gala was less about recognizing club and player achievements and more about money. And if that is the case, it is unfortunate but another arrow in the quiver for people who complain that these clubs focus more on money than serving their players/coaches. |

still surprised the announcement was never leaked. Many have said it really wasn't a big deal, so seems it would have been more likely to be leaked then.
I guess the announcement was the Norcross long time DOC and coach leaving to Orlando city to wear purple.

I doubt that, considering whatever the announcement was it was January when they were talking about it and now it is July and no one announced it. The Norcross DOC situation was very recent. Maybe you were being facetious? I agree with your statement regarding the lack of leaks and it was no big deal. Why not tell then if it is no big deal? |

They then sent out emails to let the people who were nominated know about it. If your kid was nominated and got that email, don't you think they would want to know if they won??? |

What made you think we left UFA? No, we did not.
I am curious by nature. When someone says they will announce something and then doesn't, it irks me.
Also I have many friends and many clubs and yes I care what about what happens to them too. I don't think it is a problem to want what is best for your kids and for your friends' kids. It is called being a caring person.

My opinion ( KEY WORD OPINION )- Gala == FUNDRAISER with party clothes. Too close to end of season tournament expenses and therefore not bringing in the $$.  |
