FG, That's an interesting question that I don't think can accurately be answered. But I think anytime you have a coach for two years, it's probably better that you keep that coach going through the end of season tournaments. With our old coach switching clubs that wasn't much of an option.
We had to win regionals to advance to Nationals, so the new Tournament Coach (NTC) came in and accomplished that with 3 weeks to get to know the boys and figure out his starting 11 and subs. In some ways him not knowing the team (and only coaching through Nationals) helped as it was easier for to play to win and not worry about playing time for players. That worked in the regional tournament and we advanced. Every decision the NTC made seemed to work. Would we have advanced with our old coach? You never know but he did know the team well and I think we would have advanced.
Unfortunately I think some of the players turned negative on the NTC based on their playing time in regionals and that affected the team at training leading up to the tournament and at Nationals. To me it seemed like at Nationals they (some, not all of the team) responded to him more like a substitute teacher. That would not have happened under the old coach. So I think we would have performed better at Nationals with the old coach.
That's nothing negative to the NTC as I think he approached Regionals and Nationals the same way. Just don't think the team as a whole did the same.

No. Our coach for next year had licensing training during the regional tournament and was not available. So once we won regionals and advanced to Nationals the coach that took us to regionals continued. Next week we'll start with our permanent coach for next year.
As far as the team of the 18 that went to Nationals 16 will continue with the team. One will head back to the red team and one is off to play American football for the Fall, and then will rejoin the team in November. Then two new players, former DA, will also join. Going to be a battle for playing time with limited subs and eventually 19 players on the roster.

TH 00/01 SCCL girls lost 2-0 in OT to FC Stars ECNL Composite. Strong game, just ran out of gas at the end. Second goal came as TH was pushed up hard looking to equalize in 2nd OT period. Great run for the girls. That FC Stars Comp team was the runner up at ECNL Finals. Strange that they would play both events.

Why wouldn't they though? If the players are willing to do it, play for as many championships as you can. State/USYS, ECNL, US Club Cup.
