I was trying to be optimistic for Tiger but they're in for a rough weekend. CF Elite came ready to play today. AFU and Chiefs did well after an up-and-down season.

LOL maybe I should take up gambling! I should know better than to go against Chiefs when they have their U12 ringer. She's quite a player. UFA will be more of a challenge tomorrow.

Word on the street is Concorde elite brought 4 ecnl playups. Didn't realize they had that many playing up! Anyone verify this?
Afc can't play at the top level though. Watched the game yesterday. It was almost as bad as the top hat game. Men amongst boys.

Not all the scores are up but it looks like Fan is still on a roll. So who is this Tiger Soccer Club and why on earth are they in State Cup? They finished third in Athena E. So far twenty goals against in two games at State Cup. I get that you want to play with the best to be the best but they are so far out of their league in this, it's really sad and frankly irresponsible of that coach/club for putting them in there. Why didn't they just do President's Cup - they'd have had a better chance and more even competition.

Sounds like CF at least brought a couple of their top scorers from ECNL. If I'd have known that I would have upped my score guesses for them! Doesn't sound like AFU or GSA brought any down but both of their U14 teams are weaker than CF's.
Looks like TH brought several U12s. Their roster isn't too huge so I wonder why some of their 13s aren't here (or maybe they were a little short all season and relied on U12s the whole time??).
Sounds like Chiefs brought one player up and one player down. They needed some help to really compete here. Looks like GSA Red brought up a U12 forward too. They could have used a little more scoring help during the season. Don't know about the other teams.
All of the above is frustrating for teams that stick with the same roster they've used all season.

Picks for Monday... No big surprises the last couple days but several of these games can go either way.
CF Black 9 - Tiger 0 (tried to keep my guess lower the last couple days in hopes Tiger would somehow keep things somewhat close but no such luck)

Well I would have lost all my winnings if I had bet on today's games  . I gave up on Tiger too soon. They managed a pretty respectable score against CF black. TH was lucky to be in that division. They just made it into the semis. GSA had a tough time today but they made it too. I'm surprised UFA didn't make it but NASA Elite did well to shut them out today. AFU put up a good fight but CF Elite moves on. It's nice to see so many close games. Congratulations to everyone. |

Quite a bit of parity in the U13 brackets. No team won all 3 games. Wonder what implications that has on tryouts...

Good job to the u13 Norcross girls. They had a great showing. Finished tied for the top in their division after a tie with Tophat today. Lost on total goals scored I'm assuming but I was a bit surprised by how well they did. Nice job to them and all the teams at the State Cup!

It was much more intense today for sure. Sat and Sunday were quiet. Today at 5:15, all 4 games at the same time, winner advances and for some a tie. Heard some great roars, and u could follow all 4 games. Saw some jarring back n forth, and the Norcross/top hat game was crazy intense. Norcross had it 1-0, gave up a late free kick outside the box. Top hat played a great bending ball, keeper barely touched it, top hat headed it for the equalizer.
Extremely competitive age group, many quality teams, and the 5:15 games proved it. My hats off the u13 girls. 3 teams are out by losing on goal differential and not losing a game.
