So I am getting this right. You make one of these clubs teams and then you tryout again for the "alliance" team. If not DA, what does this team do as to next level matches?

Yeah, in our age group, all 3 have a team in NL Piedmont. What's the advantage of this?
What they should do is put together a best players team at every age group and challenge ECNL and DA teams to friendlies.

here is the link to their webpage -- www.georgiaalliancefc.com/and from their webpage -- Stronger together! Georgia Alliance FC players will have the opportunity to participate in additional elite programming with other top players from member clubs. The players that are selected will receive additional training together, and will attend nationally recognized elite tournaments as Georgia Alliance FC Elite. We are creating the best environment for our players to maximize the efforts to reach their full potential and prepare them for the next level. Jefferson Cup, Disney, here we come.

I believe the combined "alliance" teams play tournaments like Jeff. Cup, Disney, etc.
Last spring, the "alliance" teams did play friendlies against ATL UTD DA - maybe some others, I'm not sure.

Interesting! I assume Georgia Alliance FC will only have the younger age groups applying for DA?

Interesting! I assume Georgia Alliance FC will only have the younger age groups applying for DA? There's no more U12 DA. Rumor is U13 goes away next year. So if they are applying, it would have to be U14 and up. Seems like an uphill climb but who knows... with the number of Atl metro clubs that will only have U14, maybe there will be some contraction which would open up a spot for them. However, I think it would be more likely that a club that NASA gets awarded all ages before a new club in the metro area is given a DA program - even w/ contraction.

I would say given Dave Smith's experience with Ga United and now Tophat -- NASA would look to be in good shape for a future DA application. Especially if the DA continues to make changes and maybe next year tweeks the u17s like the 19s with a tiered approach.
Alliances are strong though -- now if they could put together a fully funded DA package, you might have a winner winner chicken dinner!

GA Alliance already stated their feelings about the possibility of NOT getting DA on their FAQ page - www.georgiaalliancefc.com/faqDid I mention it's only $550 for 6 Sessions. Do you get a special PATCH for your club uniform? What happens if the Alliance does not get a DA bid?
While the goal of the Alliance is to apply and be accepted to the USSF DA, the success and opportunity that the program provides is not self-reliant on that acceptance. The program is about offering a unique opportunity to players to continue to gain the maximum exposure and growth while working in the partnership between the clubs. The experience of this environment is what the philosophy of the DA is in terms of player development and we want replicate that experience for the elite players who are selected to the program. We have tremendous confidence that we will submit a strong bid and hope that strength in working together will be recognized and rewarded with an entrance to the USSF DA Costs?
The program fee will be $550 per player for all age groups. This includes training fees, facility costs, uniforms, tournament costs, and ref fees. (travel costs are not included) Each team will train a minimum of 6 times in the Fall and the Spring for all age groups. Depending on schedules in working around players and coaches club commitments teams will most likely train more than the allocated 6 minimum per season program.

Looks like its $550 for a minimum of 6 sessions in the fall and then 6 sessions in the spring -- along with tourneys etc.
If they get a few tourneys in then cost isn't bad, but seems they could have pulled this off by offering the sessions for free and then just charging for uniforms and tournaments.
I would think that an application for u13 and u14 should be accepted -- no chance at the u15+ age group until they proof their worth. What will be interesting is if they push forward and get DA --- to tryout would you have to be at a member club and would it be invite only.

Good Question, I doubt they would turn any strong player away because they’re at a different club. I don’t see that information anywhere?
I imagine that each top team, boys and girls get invitations from the three clubs and is probably mandatory to tryout. After tryouts they’ll probably choose the best of the best. :-)

Yes players have to be current Alliance member players as this program is an addition to their current club team. So Lil Billy plays on Impacts 06 Classic 1 team and combines with the best of the best from the four Alliance clubs on a showcase style team. If they get DA then it’ll change but until then this is like ODP but better. “Players will be selected by their club and receive an invitation to try out for the Alliance. Players will be sent a registration link and will have 48 hours to accept the invitation.”

Inter + Rush + Impact all stars > ODP? Inter + Rush + Impact + old Smyrna SC > ODP ODP is an okay service but it costs to much and is to political. Add in the facilities are never convenient, the coaches are to worried about their club and thus checked out. Can anyone give us a breakdown of what ODP cost late year compared to this “Elite” Alliance Team.

Not sure why NASA would be in good shape for expansion ?? They have applied for it the last 2 years and been denied. Only group playing well is their U13s (based off last yr).

If you are talking about expansion of DA, I would say NASA is in better position than the "Alliance" for full DA. As for the "Alliance" getting just U12's and U13's in DA, I have no idea.

Is there a facility convenient to Inter and Impact? Anything that is a collection of kids from all over the city/state is going to be inconvenient to some. ODP costs $300 for training once every 3 weeks on average; looking at u12 boys last year they had 15 training sessions. Optional Regional events are $170 each, so if you do everything... $640 plus travel expenses. www.georgiasoccer.org/odp/faq/

They have a strong U13 team that they are hoping get some positive results at DA this season.
