I was impressed that a number of DA boys teams, NASA, SSA and Concorde for example, easily won games and tournaments over the past couple weeks playing a year up over older ECNL and SCCL teams. Significant goal differences. Friendly games with DA over their ECNL and SCCL teams supported that as well. Did not realize that the DA boys level is so much higher than ECNL/SCCL. Not always true in other parts of the country.

Very generalized statement. Depends on the team, the year, the club, etc.

Agree. Depends on age. CF DA 02s have lost or tied several ECNL teams.

Yes, it might be a generalized statement, however, there is some credence to the statements by Brinker. Clearly the age groups being described are U13/U14s so statistically with 7 DA clubs at those age groups, they do have some of the better players and therefore are more likely to be more talented and likely to do well against older non-DA age groups...

Same could be said about 02s who have lost or tied several ECNL teams. BTW they were National Finalists...I'd generalize then that ECNL is better at 02 based on logic used here.

CF's 02 DA team demolished their 03's in a scrimmage
Many CF Platinum teams play a year up in Nike Select

So hard to tell at this point in the season. Its all preseason play. Some coaches use this to determine starting 10 and then the 4/5 subs. So it has always been a mixed bag at the start. You might find the 04 U16 groups pretty strong as some will play U17 DA others will be ECNL/SCCL/NPL
I know AU will be mostly 04's on the U17DA squad. I'm sure for "special DA games (Showcases) they will field top 04/03
Should be interesting to see how preseason differs from regular season.

Although DA has many good players, they don't have them all. I personally know several players who turned down DA due to their playing rules. Distance also can play a role. Look at the turnover of rosters. As one poster said CF 02s have lost or tied ECNL teams and apparently they destroyed their own DA 03s. This 02 CF apparently just finished as National runner up. I'd say in that age the DA and ECNL teams are on equal ground.

02DA 3 03DA 1 Hardly destroyed. If you watched it, it could have easily been tied.

Other poster specifically said CF 02s DEMOLISHED the CF 03s. It appears their take on the game is much different than yours. I'll go with their description...

The difference is the 10 month season and the opportunity it gives coaches to do more with their teams.

For the past two years KSA 01's, which was a NL team, was the best team in the state of GA no matter if you were DA, ECNL, NPL, etc. They proved it in friendlies, shut out all the DA teams they scrimmaged at the AU complex. Only UFA's team wasn't there but they couldn't handle that team with Deedson. Truly a gifted team, this year's KSA team will be a new beginning without Deedson and several players that left to play in college.
DA does practice 4 days a week, an extra night of practice never hurts. Their rosters or stacked, it's hard to find a weak spot on a DA roster. I know some ECNL, NPL teams that have 9-11 really good players but the last 5-6 or not of the same caliber. Coaching is superior at 2 of the 02 DA teams but the 3rd is a complete joke and they were national semi-finalist ; )
I've seen great players leave DA for a change of pace because it's a life changing commitment, but since DA is supposedly the cream, there are other players to step in and fill those spots.

In the 02 age I'd say one ECNL team is on par or better based on results. Friends kid plays on team that beat CF, AU, Tampa Bay and lost 1-0 to UFA missing 5 starters. No argument with results.

Honestly me thinks, who cares. On any given day in any league, on any field in any city, anyone can be beat. We happy now?

soccerparent02 and soccerguru, the 2 CF DA teams had a scrimmage on Saturday. u16/17 beat the u18/19's 2-1. Of course only a scrimmage, but they are not that far apart as previously stated.

We should expect the Concorde u17s to be a good team this year. This team over the past 3 years has been a quality team. Could end up being the best in the city, we will see.

awesome for the 03's they have some quality soccer players. The scrimmage I saw was mid-week a few weeks back.
Best of luck to both of them and hopefully CF 01/02's quit the bickering on the field and play great team soccer that got them to the finals.
