went with the post tryout post --
only saw the boys---- norcross, i guess technically ufa-norcross has quality coaches on each team. not as huge a turnout for u9s, usually they field 3-4 teams, looks like this year might just be 2 quality teams. which is good - typically the 3rd teams aren't very deep and only have a few quality younger players. but they had probably ~30 u8 kids. future should be bright with some quality younger kids that will be ready to play. the past few seasons they have done a great job training their u8's, while not making them drive around the city for games. more relaxed for the younger ones. rising 10s is a solid group, and has depth, word is they are going straight to 8v8 (boys and girls). rising 11s is a special team. their top team looks like it added a very quality player. i saw this team play last year at nike jr. granted they were 6v6, it was one of the most impressive u10 teams i had ever seen. if and when this team joins with ufa forysth, going to be a very special group of players. watched them again at ufa tourney in may @ 8v8 and they didn't loose a step. Tony Annan coaches them, and i don't think he had to open his mouth once the entire game. rising 12s is a good group, good numbers and should adjust to 11s nicely. pancho is a great coach.
now, i have to worry about my own kids this week.......

It is time for the big boys and girls - should be interesting. Mine has decided to stay put despite rumblings of discontent amongst players disappointed in non-qualification for R3PL. Grateful for the constant eye-openers/education from my son, and other players regarding expectations they have of themselves. Enlightening to see their liberating movement, or the weaning off from mom and dad's opinions or passion to live vicariously through their kid(s). Yes, we do have the wisdom of age and experience, but at the end of the day, if your kid enlists from within what makes them who they are and they can display that on the field (with the guidance of good dedicated coaches), then hands off is my approach. However, I am VERY curious to see who will show up for tryouts at NSA. There is a rumour floating around (put out by a coach) that GA will only be alloted 2 R3PL spots this year, and thus the Classic I competition will be high. We shall see.

Hate waiting for the phone call. Particularly when we had a good shot at second team, until the Concorde girls arrived at NSA. Will have to field a third team.

It is impossible to tell what will happen until signing day. Those girls might decide to go with a different club. They might say they want to do three teams, but they do not know until signing day. That is when final numbers are solidified. Not to mention you might be surprised and your daughter ends up on top team!

Right on zizou! You never know what will happen completely until signing day. Some kids will try out at more than one club so until that day things aren't 100 percent. Coach could offer your kid the 2nd team but then 3 of the kids from the top team leave to go elsewhere and next thing you know...up to the top team. Isn't this as clear as mud? LOL As far as my kids go, one is done with tryouts, on a team and can now relax and enjoy the summer...the other one? Well, who knows what will happen next week. Just have to wait and see....she's not worried about it and neither am I.
