So the cost of xfinity tv at this point is just out of control in my household. I’m just throwing away $$$$$

Should i switch to YouTube tv?
We watch live sports and TLC. That’s basically it.
Sorry for going off topic.

I hear ya. Comcast/Xfinity are just killing my beach bar funds. What sport channels do you get with YouTube? I’ve looked at SlingTv and they seem decent for most overall sports channels.

I swapped from sling to youtubetv when sling dropped FSS. Youtube TV is great. All local channels, unlimited DVR, no issues.
I also left comcast several years ago. Honestly it's a wash because you still need internet and the intro rates to get you back to comcast are pretty equal to what you will pay for youtubetv/internet.
All that being said, youtubetv is worth it. Everyone in the house can have their own account and DVR which is nice.

Does having YouTubeTV get you ad-free YouTube and “premium” YouTube music?

Every time I look into this, the providers in my area raise the cost of internet only pkg to a point where the "cable"/tv portion that I am dropping does not make sense - yet. So who will be your isp and cost?

I think my higher speed comcast is 79.95 and youtubetv is 50.00.
No, having youtubetv does not get you ad free youtube or music. You would also need youtube premium which costs 11.00 month I think for that stuff. Not 100% sure but that's how I understand it.

uh, for ad-free youtube there's plenty of options.
For anyone remotely technical - go build yourself a pi-hole and take care of your whole network.

I’ve been with SlingTV for over a year - maybe two - can’t keep track. Before that had PS Vue for about a year. Dropped Vue when they dropped LaLiga (BeIn Sport) the then Sling did the same. Then Sling lost FSS so I’m probably going to try YTTV. Or Hulu with Live TV.
But I’m conflicted because those are ten dollars more per month than Sling and I just don’t watch that much TV anymore.
But I still laugh every time Charter calls or mails me info about adding TV back to my home internet service. Their fees and taxes are crazy. No comparison.

I mean seriously - why am I am paying a monthly $9.95 HD technology fee. Like in 2019 I’m going to have standard def tv. That’s the crap I’m done with.
I just wish YouTube tv has a traditional TV guide with channel numbers. Does it have voice activation for choosing channels?

We have been enjoying Hulu's live package. It is $45 a month and gives us everything we need. They have a more traditional TV guide/menu now.
