the Charleston Battery will host its last 3 home games next week before the stadium gets bulldozed for condos. I believe the stadium was the first privately funded, soccer specific stadium in the US. The stadium, museum (3 Lions Pub) and land has been sold with no definitive plans for a venue for the 2020 USL season.

If I’m not mistaken - the battery are tied for the oldest continuously operating professional soccer clubs in the United States

Funny that an Atlanta based company would buy the land and demolish it.
Wonder if Uncle Artie had something to do with putting them out of their home and guessing business soon.

*edit for clarity)
Looks like it's the last game there today but same storms that cancelled SCCL-P may cause problems.
It is such a shame that pro soccer in the southeast US (outside Atlanta) can't make money. Happy to see Tormenta laying some nice foundations at lower league levels. Hope more pop up.

Until D1 pro soccer is the top of an open pyramid, this story will repeat endlessly. Why would anyone invest?
