Makes sense after dealing with NTH. They are not the easiest group to deal with and they tend to not care about anyone else so it’s their way or no way.

If it was last weekend and this weekend coming up, it could just be simple weather issues. ...OR it could be that these clubs recognize it doesn't do academy kids any good to get blown out 10-0 every time they play a team. Better off to just not play that team.
If so, its a problem of their own making.

It seems these clubs are bad losers. Not good for the soccer landscape to refuse to play other local clubs for fear of being beat.

Did you think that would just go unaddressed? NTH steals Smyrna and moves in next to SSA. Did you think SSA would just let that ride? Someone was eventually going to make NTH pay. |

I dont think its.a fear if them. Especially at the Academy age. NTH doesn't become dominant until the older ages when they become more of a destination club. As for the bad blood, yeah, NTH Milton stealing most of CF North was brutal, so I can see that being a reason. Plus, SSA now has that partnership with CF, so... |

Three clubs (CF, SSA, GSA) have now cancelled academy games against NTH. Not only have they cancelled, they have managed to notify NTH just days before the scheduled matches. Can anyone provide info as to why this is happening? What age group and what team(top, second, etc.)? |

It has to be more to this such as weather or something else. If holds true, three clubs to not schedule games is not a good thing for NTH. |

TH decided Milton and North are playing sccl. part of the challenge, as explained to me was that the roster limits for sccl were much smaller than the 08 gold pool. |

The tournaments my son's team have played in for NTH have been horrible. The coach of his team had only two teams in one of their tournaments put it all down as conflicts and they still scheduled it to where he would be late to one game or the other all weekend, even after the team manager and he complained to the tournament director about it.
They were unwilling to work around anything. Only tournament I have ever witnessed to not actually at least try to fix things. Most will at least try even if it doesn't completely fix the issues.

As long as you send a team, why does it matter——right? 😔 Part of this issue is that not all clubs are committed to SCCL being the top league for the U12 age group for GIRLS. Obviously Tophat did not think so...UFA keeps their supposed best team in NPL (which at U12 doesn't have that many teams) and then has them play a regular academy schedule in addition to NPL (like it used to be). I don't really know about the out of state teams. I don't have an issue with a younger team playing up as clubs have done that to challenge their best teams for a long time. The two team thing for SCCL makes that a harder decision. 2nd team (or 3rd) or top team an age group down? Which is more competitive? A few years ago Concorde North and GSA both put U12 teams in U13 Athena B. One got promoted to A for the spring... |

That CF North team finished 2nd in Athena A. Roswell did the same last year and that U12 team finished 3rd.
Frankly IMO its nonsense that NTH and UFA have/are trying to have inter-state travel teams at U12. Just do a few nearby tournaments, same difference.

I think a lot of the best players simply head there without a whole lot of recruiting, expecting to be champions.
