Anyone have any info on the boys ECNL standings showing North/South divisions now for the SouthEast? Noticed it about a week ago and only in the U13/U14 age groups.

LOL at Florida being the "North" and GA/TN/AL being the "South".

Breakdown by division is only for U13 and U14. Not sure why they do for those age groups and not others. Did notice that the top five from each age group qualify for the ENPL Playoffs for U15 and above. Last year it was only the top four. To be totally fair it should be more like the top four from the "South" (HA) qualify in addition to the top Florida team. Their PPG numbers are going to be grossly inflated getting to play all the FL teams twice.
Armada and Palm Beach are terrible across all age groups. Orlando and Tampa in most. If you are FL Elite or FKK and win the extra four games against those four clubs you get an extra .63 PPG boost in the standings.
Obviously this wouldn't apply to all age groups and teams drop points to teams they shouldn't all the time but to put it in perspective. FL Elite and FKK tie both times they play each other and beat the other 5 FL teams twice that's 32 points. They would only need to get six more points out of seven games in AL/TN/GA to get to 2.0 PPG. That's top three in every age group right now. They could conceivably end up with zero points against the four ATL teams and still advance.

At U14, it looks like top team from each division (north/south) will qualify for the playoffs - even if the top team for one division has less PPG than the 2nd team from the other.
So, north/south split helps there. At U13, only the top team overall will qualify for the playoffs.

LOL at Florida being the "North" and GA/TN/AL being the "South". Maybe they are doing it based on culture/values rather than geography.😉

Weird to change it mid-season.
I was hoping we didn't have to play the Florida teams at U13 and U14 (even though most Florida games are over now).

With the split finally happening I suspect an eighth team will be added to each division at some point. Maybe boot Armada and add 2 in Florida and 1 in GA?

think it may have to do with the teams you play. For example all teams in the same div play each other twice and then you play each team in the other division once. Though not sure why they waited until now to split it apart.

One issue right now is the Florida teams also have high school soccer going on. This has been an issue with scheduling. The conference changes, assuming their implementing across all ages, should help.

Have either the u13 or u14 spring schedules been updated based on the north/south split? Could be just an “administrative” move at this point with playoff implications... maybe it’ll be a better (less) travel schedule for 2019-2020?

13s and 14s schedules have been out since the start of the season. Most of the FL travel for the GA teams was completed in the Fall half. Looks like the most significant change for those 2 age groups will be for ENPL playoffs. For the 14s, the top team from North and the top team from South get a spot. Prior to the North/South split, it was just the top two teams overall. (For 13s, it's just the first team overall that earns a spot.)
Maybe the North/South split will have some addt'l significance for next year (20-21 season).

While the travel to FL stinks the big wins against most of those teams are a fun break from the gauntlet that is having to play all the GA/TN/AL teams twice.
Especially starting at U15 when the DA teams contract in ATL.
Small sample size but FL Elite is, on average, the best FL club. As a club they have .75PPG (12 pts in 16 games) against GA and AL teams (they were the other team/club that FESA dropped points against in U15 and U17). You bet they want out of having to travel out of state.
U15 currently in 2nd at 6-1-2. They are 0-0-2 vs ATL with the loss to AL. U16 currently in 12th at 2-6-1. They are 0-3-0 vs ATL with a loss to 11th place AL. U17 currently in 1st at 8-2-1. They are 2-2-0 vs ATL with the draw to AL. U18 currently in 12th at 3-7-1. They are 1-3-0 vs ATL with a loss to AL.
