I know this has been mentioned before, but WHAT IN THE HECK do we do in order to have this forum have three sections: BOYS, GIRLS, GENERAL. I will read a three paragraph post and then realize it pertains to boys and my kid is a girl. For example, just spent a couple minutes reading about a great college ID in Atlanta this month---only then to realize it was for boys.
OR, something that DOES irritate me is someone starts a thread that deals with girls, there will be 20 responses dealing with boys 9"well, on the boys side......etc., etc.,). Drives me freaking crazy! It's been a while but I posted a question dealing with the girls side and 30 posts laters it ended up being arguments back and forth about boys soccer.
No offense, my kid is a GIRL, and I only care about solutions dealing with girls.
I admit I know nothing about how this forum is put together, or who is in charge, or if there is a way for anyone to split the forum up into BOYS, GIRLS, GENERAL QUESTIONS.
Not trying to sound sour but damn......

Agreed, talking boys vs girls we might as well be talking ice hockey vs field hockey. Similar sport, completely different game.

I sent a message to the only moderators I could find on here. Maybe all the parents who have girls can get together and figure out how to start a girls only forum.

The title of a thread or the first line of text in the post could say "RE:BOYS" or "RE:GIRLS" or "RE:BOTH" as well

This has been discussed a lot. Right now there just isn’t enough activity - I would suggest using titles to differentiate.
If activity picks up we can assess in the future.
(FYI - I didn’t receive any messages )

Yes rifle, you could use the subject as it is intended...........or...............you could also stick to responses that deal with the boys or girls side, based on the original question. That would work too.
Go back over a two year period and look at how many topics are created to address girls' or boys' issues and then see how many of them go off into another direction where the person who created the thread has to sift through BS to find relevant information.

New to internet forums? This isn't exactly new or unique to here.

My personal feelings (which carry essentially no weight since I don't run this excellently run forum)...
There isn't nearly enough traffic to start stratifying things. To you, the most important thing is to break things up boys vs girls. To someone else, it might be pro/college path vs high school path. To another, it might be geographical. To yet another, it might be parents vs coaches vs players. Then we'll end up with 48 different forums with one post every 2 months in each one. "Hey, you should have posted this on the boys pro path western atlanta players forum!"
I jest (mostly), but certainly the gender and level of soccer would be obvious breaks. So boys vs girls and then rec+ (my son played this, I'm not judging) vs highest level (DA and such). So that would be 4 separate forums already if everyone that felt passionately about not ever reading something unrelated to them got their way.
Be diverse, learn a little, enjoy the community. It's not THAT much to look at. My son aged out almost 3 years ago and I still follow some of the conversations here.

You can often gain insight into what might be coming down the path based on what is going on in the other anyway. Plus surely a decent percent of this population has children of both sexes. If you really only want to hear one side of it, simply put "Girls Only" in the subject line.

This forum isn't high-traffic enough to bother separating. There are other places I hang where a post can be off the first page in minutes.. THOSE need to be broken down into sub categories.
Here? The oldest post on the front page is from Dec 16. I think we can sort it out manually.

Hence, why the SCCL topic was an easy one to pull out and have it's own board, lots of discussion and specific interests. From a moderator's perspective, multiple boards definitely then requires dedicated moderators for each sub board.
We have a ton of viewing traffic for sure. I always try to post informative topics, tweets and then raise questions for potential debates. yes sometimes, I like to stir the pot a bit.... create conversation, play devils advocate.
At the end of the day, if the we get more posting traffic with legit threads then more sub boards would and will be created. Right now, its just very nice to come to one spot etc. Often things impact both boys/girls.
But lets take everyone's suggestion -- yes, topics/threads morph into something else, that is the reality of forums. I'm probably the greatest culprit of this, but lets try to use Girl/Boy or men/women in titles to help folks.
Happy New year!

Surprisingly this is probably the first thread ever that no one has hijacked.
Oops ... did I just do that?
