While the men's side seems to be slow to hiring and hiring unpopular choices, the women's general manager Kate Markgraf appears to be moving quicker. January 3 Laura Harvey was announced as the U20 coach and yesterday Matt Potter was announced as the U23 coach. Anyone care to comment on these two coaches and their qualifications? Both look good on paper. I know Harvey was tossed around as a possibility for the USWNT head coach job by pundits. I am not sure if she was interviewed for that post. Apparently Potter was scouting the opponents for the World Cup this year for us. Both coaches are originally from England.

Don't really know much about them, but Kate Markgraf seems to run a tighter ship then the Great Earnie Stewart. We'd probably be better off with her in charge of the men's side also.

Don't know much about Potter, but the little I know about Harvey is from her days at Seattle Reign and then Utah Royals. I do remember her playing with the women's side for the Wolves of the premier league. I believe she was successful at Seattle and maybe coached 2 or 3 named USWNT while she was there. I think it's a good hire having been through and a part of high level facets of the game on the women's side...

Meanwhile, on the USMNT we are still focused on hiring and filling out the management team. Nothing against him personally, but we need coaches...
