Is the Soccer Youth All-American Series really as good as it's hyped up to be? What can you guys tell me about it?

Is the Soccer Youth All-American Series really as good as it's hyped up to be? What can you guys tell me about it? I'm wondering the same thing. I submitted info ('nomination'...) and ~10 days later she got 'selected'. It's $395 to play in one weekend's worth of games and includes uniform kit. extra charges for other training sessions. Me thinks it's a money grab without any real benefits (other than to claim your kid is an 'All American')... Anyone else thoughts? Has anyone here done it? The competition seems to be much better and the org seems geared towards younger players. I don't think there are any benefits. My daughter got nominated a year or two ago, and never ended up going. We are still getting emails that she qualified for their "national cup" or whatever it is. Seems like a cash grab. Plus travel and hotel.

Seems like a nice carrot that’ll allow the “series” director to drive a new Porsche.
