I'm interested to see how CFA Dalton does against the 3 ECNL teams in the U13B Championship Division.

That DPL (former SCCL) team lost a handful of girls to DA this past year but should be a good matchup. That Concorde team is REALLY talented though.

I think that bracket (U14 Girls Championship) is the most intersting one of the tournament from a girls perspective. You have the 3 ECNL teams, a DPL team and an 07 preDA team. It is preseason, but it will be interesting to see the scores and analysis and jumps to conclusion afterwards. Get your popcorn ready

Turf is the answer here. All big-club winter tournaments (Nov-Feb) should be on turf.

Looks like some venues are already closed and games cancelled with the potential of cancelling more this evening. Also, below are the half duration times for each venue as some were mentioning rumors of shortened halves. Short halves definitely suck. Could be difficult to get into the flow of the game and for the coaches to manage playing time etc. Would have been nice to add a few games Friday evening if any teams were willing to accommodate in order to keep the games full time.

Cutting games to 20-22 minutes shows clubs just want the pay check. Most people will spend more time traveling to the games then watching soccer. Most of these grass fields are going to get destroyed.

I think all the other locations are turf fields.

Can't wait to see how the tournaments react to the winter weather advisory that was just issued. I can just see the announcement now "Games will start at 1 PM. We will play 10 minute halfs. Do not leave the field. We will just rotate teams onto the field. Please do not ask for a refund. You got 3 games in equal to one full game."

There can be beat up grass in front of the goals but usually the fields have been in good condition when we have played there even after heavy rain, cold weather tourneys. Will let u know if it still holds true as one child is playing there this weekend

It's about the all mighty dollar, to hell with everyone having to drive an hour or more to get there on any risk of slick roads for a 20 minute half...I would bet on them pushing the morning games to the afternoon or to Sunday morning to get it all in(at 20 minute halves) for with no refunds of course.

So LSA cancels all games after 11:00 and they said they would update later for tomorrows games. Tomorrows games? How important is the all might dollar you already put people into dangerous conditions. Why would you try to play one or two games tomorrow. When is a club going to stand up and say we are not going to put our paying members in dangerous situations?

Yea. No reason to train or scrimmage today. Smart coaches cancelled anything in their own control
Making any parent drive this morning for a training session or scrimmage is foolish and potentially dangerous.

When is a club going to stand up and say we are not going to put our paying members in dangerous situations? They posted at 1145 that they would cancel tomorrow. That being said...give it to 10 am and chances are that the roads will be fine. But they did say that they were canceling it so I think they took the safety of the parents and players into account.
