AFU sent the following message. I received it at 12:15, which I thought was too late and it probably didn't make much of a difference.
"Please DO NOT attend any games today, even if they haven't been officially canceled. We want our AFU families safe!"

So LSA cancels all games after 11:00 and they said they would update later for tomorrows games. Tomorrows games? How important is the all might dollar you already put people into dangerous conditions. Why would you try to play one or two games tomorrow. When is a club going to stand up and say we are not going to put our paying members in dangerous situations? When will the parents start to stand up and say we won’t put ourselves or our kids in danger to go to a soccer match? Maybe when parents are told by their club or feel there won’t be any repercussions for not bringing their kids to a game when there’s weather issues.

Maybe when parents are told by their club or feel there won’t be any repercussions for not bringing their kids to a game when there’s weather issues. What repercussions are worth endangering yourself and your family? It’s youth soccer. It still amazes me that the “almighty clubs” have actually gotten such control over their paying customers. Again, I ask when will parents stand up and make their own decisions? It’s comments like these and sheepish parental behavior towards clubs that’s driven our youth soccer landscape over the past decade. And look where that’s gotten us. It appears that this site is mainly made up of parents who pay for 99% of all of the clubs revenue. All parents should want the same thing for their kids and we should demand it from our clubs. Instead most threads are “my club is better than your club” or “your league sucks and mine is awesome”. Imagine what could be done to fix our broken youth soccer system, in the US and specifically the metro area, if we stood together not only as paying customers but as parents and demanded appropriate behavior from each and every club.

Agreed. I also said this about Georgia Soccer and taking a stand when they make stupid decisions, the problem is that it falls on deaf ears, and one person doesn't really make a difference. But in theory, you are correct, just not in reality. I know when the (forgive me I know this has been talked to death and is only an example) age mandate change was happening, their were multiple petitions, and a very large out cry, but the clubs and Georgia Soccer didn't even recognize it or respond to it. So how do the paying customers stand together and create change?

While I agree with your logic, I also know that for every one parent that disagrees with the club or raises issues, there’s 10-15 others ready and willing to pay the same or more money and keep their mouths closed just to have their kid make the team. So yes, while it’s a parents responsibility to make sure their family is safe, it’s also their responsibility to make sure their kid is treated fairly and not penalized. It would be great if all parents stood together to bring club soccer back to where it should be but that’s never going to happen and clubs know that.

Our parents decided that we're not playing at 8am tomorrow so we're forfeiting. Asking us to drive an hour with possible black ice to get there by 7:30 before the sun rises is too much to ask for a u9 game. I wish I could say I'm surprised that the tournament director even asked us to play at that time, but it's just not worth it.
Edit: When we told the tournament director we were forfeiting they moved our game to 10am, so it's back on

I have seen change happen for individual teams or at a single club for multiple teams on occasion. Those times there was a consensus or nearly so and then the club pays attention. If you have half saying yes and half saying no then you usually don't see change.
