Since I hadn't seen a press release regarding DPL for 2020-21 I went to look at one of the new clubs, CSA, who are moving their 2nd teams into DPL next fall. For DPL it appears they will have a single team (I guess it'll involve some driving from one location or the other).
What was interesting is they have really gotten ahead of the curve with information. They even include all travel fees to Florida in the overall cost (for both DA and DPL), which is around $5K for both teams. Here's their team informational package: bsbproduction.s3.amazonaws.com/portals/5464/docs/tryouts/2020%20tryouts/fee%20chart%20all%20older%20girls%202020-2021%2002_20_20.pdf Also note that DPL is more expensive than DA...
On an aside, CSA currently have a lot of teams in National League Piedmont conference. We have discussed SCCL expansion, NL Piedmont and NL Sunshine merger and how this will affect GA Soccer, but we are not the only state going through this. From NL Piedmont, this is what looks to change (be lost) from the North Carolina side...
U13G: CESA 07G (ECRL), NCFC Elite (ECRL), NCFC Courage (ECRL), CSA South (DPL)
U14G: NCFC Gold (ECRL), CSA South (DPL), CSA North (?) U15G: NCFC (ECRL), NC Fusion (ECRL), CSA South (DPL), NCFC Elite (ECRL) U16G: NCFC (ECRL), Charlotte Independence (ECRL), CSA South (DPL), NCFC (ECRL) U17G: CSA North (?), Charlotte Independence (ECRL), CSA South (DPL), NCFC (ECRL)

You are making the assumption that they will not do both. While that is a reasonable assumption CSA did previously do NPL and NL simultaneously. I think it would be VERY tough though with the Florida trips to both. It would be A LOT of travel so your assumption is probably correct for CSA. Not as sure for the ECRL clubs...their travel isn't as bad.

Perhaps they will. I can't imagine it being particularly fun. AFC didn't seem to feel it was worth it, but a few of the Carolina clubs/teams seem to do it. I wonder if they keep bigger 20+ rosters for those teams. And distance isn't even the worst of it, its scheduling ~25 games for one club season...

Discoveries (Charlotte Independence) did NL and NPL last year and I wondered how they handled it. As a parent it's hard to agree on playing 20 plus matches and that travel cost associated. Let's face it, the return on the investment may never pan out for most.
Appreciate the post as I myself wasn't thinking of the impact of other leagues.
