There is an obvious pattern of poor communication when it comes to clubs and some youth soccer organizations changes being implemented. The clubs and these organizations can do better here! Below are some suggestions. Please feel free to add or comment.
Timing of messages should be appropriate. Pre-announcements should have some level of transparency on when the change is expected to take place.
The information should be disseminated quickly, effectively, and efficiently.
Messages should be clear and concise and help parents/ players understand why the change is happening and how it will impact them.
Consider how the change will be perceived by external audiences. Craft message that is professional and creates a positive understanding to mitigate any potential reputational risks.
Parents/ players should feel like there is a vision or roadmap the club has created and set out to accomplish.
After the message, the club needs to stay on top of players and parents concerns. Open communications with real information. Q and A sessions.

atv I honestly applaud your attempt to change years of bad acts by clubs and the non-communicative DOCs that lead and set the tone, but I think it is all for naught. That is until we the paying customers stop accepting the lack of communications and hold these DOCs and clubs to task. In almost no other scenario would we accept this nonsense but then again maybe I'm just jaded. To play along, I would add, the DOC should be mandated to be at the fields at least one or two days a week. I think when he/she has to face the parents directly, they are more likely to get good feedback and act right since they will have to face their constituents directly...

LOL Possibly voices in the wilderness but my experience has been clubs generally want to do the right thing by their players and parents.

Put aside the parent/player/coach conversation about playing time etc.
I'm thinking more the true constructive criticism etc like others have mentioned. Clear conversation about the curriculum and philosophy of the club - How are coaches and players evaluated throughout the season? What does it really mean to be a youth partner of Atlanta United? How do we benefit? What is the breakdown of our our annual fees? Where does each dollar go to? please add........
The reality is we live in a world now, where people find things out and information spreads -- a clear and concise message is always nice to get out in front of it.
"Yes, we are having discussions about joining DPL, nothing is finalized right now, but we are hoping to add it for the 2020-2021 season"
"No - the rumors of a merger are not true, we are not merging with Concorde"

I'm thinking they should blast out cryptic instagram posts.. maybe a tweet or two. Then go silent for LONG periods of time. Then... pretend it never happened.
