I had heard the hoopla about the US U20 woman rolling through Concacaf championship and so, recorded the final against Mexico. US won 4/1. I don't mean to be hypercritical but I sat there in amazement as what I witnessed was not high level soccer. I know that the squad has a bunch of college studs. And, the rain for most of the first half did not help matters. But man, they couldn't connect a pass most of the game, their touches were not very good, they booted the ball more than they played to feet (even when NOT under duress), and their sophistication was lacking. While they scored 4 goals, each was due to Mexico blunders that you wouldn't see in a u16 game. It will be interesting to see what this team does against good and organized competition.

Sounds about right -- brute force is the American way these days.
Julie Ertz style -- bang it and run through them

These days? As opposed to the early days where we played beautiful tiki-taka football with Abby Wambach and Michelle Akers?

With the constant comparisons of the MNT vs WNT, I’m always reminded it’s not like the WNT are trained so much better than the Men. They have the same resources, distractions, coaching etc. It’s that the Women are deeper and better athletes than their opponents.

Lower level of resources, used far more often. The men have first class flights, better hotels and mandate that they only practice on grass (all part of their CBA).
So the women need to sue for a new CBA that will have the same stuff as the men, but their NWSL stipend/health insurance and all that stuff needs to be the same as the men also.
They also need to cap the number of games per year in non-WC/WC qualifying years for both teams.

Hodup: the last letter in CBA is for Agreement. As in, they agreed to it. Why would you sue to get a new agreement? Just negotiate whatever you want into your next CBA. Or not.

Really because they want unearned back-pay. They may as well be asking for it from the NFL for all the sense it makes to me.
