I’m a LONG-time reader (10+ years, back to the “old forum” even), but haven’t posted in quite a while so I figured I’d start a fresh account.
I’ve been reading a lot on here about what clubs and coaches are doing while the season is currently suspended and have been a little surprised at the negative reactions toward most of what’s happening/being put out there by the clubs/coaches. From what I’ve seen, it looks like the majority of people are displeased (or at least unimpressed) with the “cookie cutter/copy and paste” approach from many resources being put out currently.
Since there are already existing threads discussing those negative aspects, i was wondering how many of us have been pleasantly surprised, pleased, or even potentially blown away with what our respective coaches and/or clubs are doing while teams and players are in this “Lost Spring” time period. This could be anything from one on one sessions to virtual coaching to “giving out homework.” I’m interested to hear our different experiences (if there are many considering the prevalence of the “it’s all the same” sentiment) and gauge who’s doing a good job, who maybe has room to do better, and what those coaches/clubs are doing specifically that impresses or pleases you regarding player development and staying engaged with teams.
Let me know what you’ve experienced and hopefully there are some good ones out there!

My younger one's coach sent a pretty lengthy workout for them.. warmups, skills, drills, challenges, etc. He wants them to send them some video clips occasionally so he can see their progress. This is on top of what the club already sent.
Then again, this coach REALLY cares about his players.. very, very invested and engaged.

Awesome, special kind of Coach ... over here it’s nothing but silence since 03 Jan 2020 let alone C19 state closure.. Nothing from our club, team staff and/or other players parents checking in and providing updates and individual practice plans to earn their spring money or prepare for June. The HS sports coaches have a little but nothing on players’ Heath and individual practices though. Only IF clubs and paid coaches actually were interested in player development beyond a seasonal team win.
