So is the "writing on the wall", as is said, for NPL? Everyone seems to think NPL is doomed based on the Carolina teams withdrawing... and what looked like UFA leaving for DPL (which would appear won't happen with their change to ECNL). Is there anything that will keep the league viable? If UFA stays in NPL, can they pull in some other clubs and save it? Do they want to or would they rather just raise SCCL... as I know from talking to one director of a big 6 club, they like because THEY can control it themselves. Somewhat related items/thoughts: 1) With the expansion of the SCCL, it appears they are re-creating Athena, but under their control. Could they be ultimately be trying to reduce back down all the leagues and make it like it used to be to an extent? If you take Tophat (DA/DPL) out of the discussion, you would have: Top teams = ECNL (as before) 2nd team = SCCL (formerly RPL) Athena = SCCL-P thru SCCL 1-3 **This would follow using the premise that UFA drops NPL.
This is just a theory that I'm sure has many holes, but I thought I'd toss it out there with all the time we all have on our hands at the moment. 2) what is AFC doing? Sorry, I forgot... my head is spinning with all the moving targets and I'm to lazy to go back and track it down, so I'm just asking ...

This seems highly possible. AFC was NPL for their top team, no idea what they are doing now.
NPL is probably dead, or will go back to being an adjunct league. There really was only one year (18/19) where there were enough teams for it to be a full league.
