Currently The top tier of USYS is the USYS National League which is only a 2 weekend event with teams playing 7 showcase games and a chance to advance to the USYS National Championships. Then the second tier are the regional leagues of the USYS National league, piedmont conference being the local region.
What if USYS approached all these non mls DA clubs with a true season long version of the National tier National league. Add those DA clubs and the top regional clubs already in the national tier of the national league. Still keep a few special showcase weekends and have pro/rel using the regional USYS below. Worth a shot especially if those clubs are left out of ecnl for the upcoming season.

Now's the time to strike... but it seems their ineptness they've shown in the first place, might be their achilles heel and they won't be able to pull it off effectively anyway.

This could be the best thing to happen to USYS in years. For girls would make them a clear team based alternative to ECNL, maybe not quite the cache but a much closer and more respected number 2. For boys ECNL doesn't have the same reputation and maybe they could position themselves as the top league or at least an even alternative. Question is can USYS get their stuff together and make it happen? I don't see how that would be possible -- wouldn't it require re-inventing the state leagues? or are you saying jump straight to a national league with no state or regional play?

Bring any and all these DA clubs interested directly into the national tier of national league and combine them with the current 32 teams/clubs per age bracket in the national tier of NL. The NL teams would rotate still through regional leagues and states leagues like pro/rel. the DA teams would remain National tier . It won’t happen but would be interesting

There's blood in the water and the sharks are jumping... USYS is going to likely create an elite league for DA fallout. USYS will be relevant again and interestingly possibly jumping into a non-pro/rel market. t.co/wBpj7JBhrR?amp=1

Yeah, but reading between the lines they're wanting to replace DA opportunistically with a new elite league (even taking former USSF staff).
IMO the hubris of the former GDA technical director needs to be checked at the door...
